When looking through Sega Retro; I was suprised that Sega still making quite a lot of Arcade games, particulary Racing and Light-Gun games. We had After Burner Climax, but when Sega was making Consoles, we'd had at least most of their Arcade games on Consoles. Also Arcades are dead in the West, so at least make the games more avaible for everyone digitally.

I think it's especially a shame that SEGA Race TV is something we'll not getting to play. It's Yu Suzukis last game, and looks fun.

What do you think? Which games from Lindbergh and RingEdge/Wide arcade Units would you like to play?

We have OutRun Online Arcade and After Burner Climax, but not the 3D sequel to Space Harrier! Planet Harriers needs to have an HD release!

All of them. Except maybe Holosseum.

Seriously this should be Sega's #1 priority on XBLA/PSN. They've made a good start lately and need to keep the ball rolling, get the AM port team working on as many of these as possible (so long as they don't rush them). I'd buy every one, especially the games that have never had ports before.

Arcade games are Sega's strongest asset.

HotD EX would do well on XBLA/PSN, whilst Border Break would have to be a retail release sadly due to it being a very high end game (and recent too).

Quartet should be up there as well.
Big fan of Claymore, Miria in particular.

Currently playing Yakuza 0.

Sega has too many... I can't remember it all. But there are 2 titles that I never forgot to ask Sega:

- MOTOR RAID
- PLANET HARRIERS

Both are FUCKING amazing!!! I have finished Planet Harriers (and you need a lot of money to finish an arcade game- I've spent 10k yens to do it) and got a surprise on the end: Spike and Spike Jr. makes a cameo on it. LOL!

Motor Raid is better than my loved Road Rash :pppp  I WANT IT LIKE A CRAZY!!!

 Still waiting Sega!!! 8)

Ah yeah!  I love Quartet, both the arcade and the Master System version.  (Although why did they make Edgar white?)  Truly joyous music, too.  Maybe this could go in the Tuesday Tunes queue...

After Super Hang-On, this game has my next favorite Sega music. The 2005 & 2007 remixes are amazing as well. I don't think the game holds up well though. I was especially pissed when I learned it had no end. I didn't realize I was playing for a score rather than an ending.

Oh, and, Shining Force Cross. Now. Please.

Salt in my wounds! Ouch! I remember this being announced in the ODM and my jaw hit the floor. Now it's in some dark void to a few lucky Naomi owners who kept the cartridge.

I don't know if any progress was ever made to scaling it back for the Dreamcast, but with the PS3, Xbox 360, and now the Wii U, this should be first in line.

Salt in my wounds!

To rub some salt in the poster you responded too:

Last stage of Planet Harriers (with Spikeout cameo) hooked up to a Virtua Striker 4 Ver.2006 cabinet (how that works i don't know, that's one of our tech guys doings).

A dutch videogame forum with heavy arcade flavour has recently setup their own private arcade space for members, which consist of arcade cabs owned by members ;) We can play pretty much every Chihiro game (romsets of the game can be easily loaded into a Chihiro motherboard) and Lindbergh (we got a harddisk with all the games for it) game as well.

Playing Virtua Cop 3 on a HOTD3 machine:

Or Ghost Squad:

We can also jack up the lindbergh motherboard the HOTD3 cabinet, misses the HD. But we can play 2Spicy for example with the continue buttons (as left and right) and other unemulated Lindbergh classics (HOTD EX, SEGA Golden Gun...).

We also have a Afterburner DX cab:

And here's some more picca's, to make you all drool ;)

Thanks for the Planet Harriers video!  I can't tell if it's incredibly difficult but manageable once you've built your skill, or if it crosses the line into being cheap with those enemy projectiles being unavoidable.  Either way... I wish I could play it!

I am rather annoyed at Sega for not releasing the HD remake of OutRun for the US PSN market but available in the UK. I don't have any more room for the Xbox 360 despite a massive amount of money I've invested in the XBLA. My old 360 elite RRoD'd on me only two days before the release of GTA4.

Insult to injury, I was just released from the hospital a day earlier but has one week bedrest order from my doctor after surgery. I was floored and pissed as an understatement of the decade. I hit up GameStop and against doctors orders I set out and got the PS3 version and a new PS3 as well after them being a bit more affordable compared to launch (gave me 3DO flashbacks when I bought the Panasonic FZ-1)...

I loved the system but wow the quality control was awful. Even the newer slim units have failed and my trust in Microsoft hardware was shaken as I never has any Microsoft hardware accessory for my PC fail me.

So I looked into this stuff of Sega bringing Arcade games to Consoles.

Appearently a Strategy for the Amusment division, from 2005 onwards, is to let Arcade games stay in cabinets as long as possible, and not consider a Home port. Before we would have the games, a year after, or the same year on the Consoles.

To me it's just wierd as Arcades are dead in the West. Sure they are still big in Japan, but why not make it so that only people outside of Japan could download it? Or something. Really, overall more money could be made.

So pretty much from Lindbergh onwards we missed most of the games. Which is shame cause that's when Consoles got downloadable Services that are perfect for those games? Also are in HD, and ya know I'd like to play some HD internally developed Sega games. Not until 4 years later, when After Burner Climax came on XBLA/PSN, I realised how nice it looked, since before there was shaky cam footage of the cabinets. The General public maybe we would have a bit of a higher opinion of Sega, if most of these games were on Consoles already.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sega_arcade_games

Racers:
Sega Race TV (looks like cheesy, colorful, arcadey racing fun - pure SEGA I'd like to say)
R-Tuned Street Racing (yeah, looks like some Need for Speed Underground ripoff, but it looks like it would go through as a decently fun game)
Sega Hummer (Excite Truck basicilly, why not)
Harley Davidson: King of the Road (appearent the prequel of this was planned for Dreamcast but was canned, looks like a neat arcadey Bike game, with boosts and some wild track design)

Shooters:
Let's go Jungle/Island (quirky, bright and pretty hilarious - needs to be on Consoles with the Move)
Primeval Hunt (yeah shooting up some Dinos with the Move, why the hell not)
Loving Deads: House of the Dead EX (looks like a really fun quirky HotD Minigame collection, using the Light-gun method in pretty fun ways)
Golden Gun (standard Railgun affair, it seems, but yeah shoudn't hurt to be on consoles)
Operation G.H.O.S.T (Sequel to Ghost Squad, that one was on Wii)

Border Break (Online 3rd person Mech Shooter, would be awesome as well)
