If you can pick one game to be remade for the modern era -
« on: February 07, 2013, 11:54:02 pm »
- which game would you choose?

Core game has to remain the same, but everything held back by the times (Visuals, Sound, Menus, Controls, etc) would be brought into the modern era.

Sega's on a remake/re-release kick right now so who know.

You gotta pick a top choice, but feel free to name others.

1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles - Sonic Generations really sparked my imagination as to what the game could have been if they only remade the Genesis versions.

Honourable Mentions goes to Burning Rangers, Phantasy Star 4 and Eternal Champions.

Panzer Dragoon Saga.

That.

Most Saturn Era games deserve the treatment of NiGHTS Into Dreams (HD Update, Original version)

I would love that too (the Shining Force 3 part).  Never played Deus Ex.

Panzer Dragoon Saga for sure!

Also, the Ecco games would look pretty sweet in full HD. Though I'd probably want a Sonic CD rerelease sort of thing rather than a full on sprite to 3D model remake.

Panzer Dragoon Saga for certain.

Others that I'd like to see: Panzer Dragoon 1 & 2, Burning Rangers, Dark Savior

The House of the Dead with new chapters with a Resident Evil remake treatment to give it a gritty feel. The arcade version contains two unused soundtracks within the data in the game.

^Why Resident Evil?? That's the last thing I want to happen to HOTD. Why dry out the lightgun genre even more??? We are only getting these cheap Turret Shooters these like Dark Escape... I mean the have cool cabs, but lack any refinement like a reloading mechanism... Instead return HOTD as a glorious lightgun game, shun the turret shooter popularity and win back lightgun popularity!

Zombie Revenge is awesome as well, like to see a new one too. Or Bare Knuckle... Or Golden Axe with Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder's feature to equip weapons on your mount... that was the bomb, Golden Axe copycats only copy the mounts not the equipable weapons.
