I did notice that Joy was listed as one of the phone call friends, meaning she is unlikely to appear in III proper. Though I never really expected her to, it wouldn't make much sense. She seemed to mostly serve as assistance to Ryo when he first arrived to China and was a one off character like Tom and Goro (though Goro deserves more love).

I'd imagine a TON of the backers don't follow them, which makes their follower count vs. backer total even worse.

I mean, I don't doubt that several of them are nice, well intentioned folk. I know that the head of it is a nice guy with ties to Shenmue Dojo. But I do think the "500k" title is a bit misleading when you see that they actually only number 50k, and some members are going overboard. I recall one guy on the Facebook page wanted to take a moment to remember those who followed the page but have since died. He didn't have any proof that they died, he just assumed that inactivity in the group = they died.

To be fair, some might be saving up money and planning to pledge on the last day.
I didn't know who they were until you posted about them though. And apparently nobody here likes them. If they aren't good enough for you guys, they aren't good enough for me either.

Anyway check this out, Yu Suzuki posted it today it's the floor plan for 'Bird Dance Hostel 1st floor' in Choubu one of the Shenmue 3 towns... This gets me weirdly excited, far more excited than a floor plan for a fictional location has any right to get someone excited... I think it just brings back that whole concept of Shenmue's complex world.

It's tempting. I can afford it, but it's one of those things where it's like "yeahhhh would be cool but..."

I'm already in for $500 which is a nice reward tier. I'll give it some thought.

Even the name just sounds right. 'Bird Dance Hostel'.

I love how much detail goes into the floor plan, something just feels right looking at that layout. I can picture walking through it already.
