I'm a newcomer to Kickstarter.  Can you donate after the Kickstarter has ended?  I donated $5, but if I found out it were coming to a system I own, I'd love to donate more to aide with it.

You cannot, after the kickstarter ends the funds are sent to YS Net, so technically YS Net doesn't have any funding until the kickstarter ends.

I think Yu Suzuki said he was going to have a paypal up to donate after the Kickstarter was done, but probably won't have tiers like the Kickstarter rewards that are up right now.

Actually, nowadays is standard fare for developer studios who started a kickstarter project to continue post KS funding in the exact same fashion through paypal in their official site, meaning they provide every pledge tier that was originally set up.

Then again, for some completely random reason, they haven't set up a paypal alternative during the project which is something every studio working on a KS project does, since a lot of people can only pay through that particular mean.

This whole thing is pretty frustrating considering that while it has been one of the most successful video game kickstarters ever, it's also one of the most amateurish I've seen. If they had an iota of sense about basic marketing and backer engagement, they might have reached 7 or 8 mil.

I agree with you on how amateurish the whole kickstarter is. I think alot of the tiers are overpriced for what they offer, but I let it go due to it being Shenmue. Tho they really left a lot of money on the table by not allowing add-on items and having cheaper tiers with digital only goods.

I agree, it could have been managed better.

PayPal has not been officially announced, but my thoughts were that they would announce it after the KS ends, so as to not take away from that project. If people knew they had x amount of time, then the KS might slow down. However, if they think they only have 24 hours or whatever, then they might be more inclined to hurry and donate now, breaking new records and making everybody involved look good.

The Kickstarter is ran by Awesome Japan, so I assume they called the shots in having as much funded via Kickstarter possibly to be less confusing but most likely to make their company look better to gather more clients after this is all said and done.
