Yakuza producer says he wants more than just Kiryu as a guest character in fighting games

Quote
Fans of Yakuza have pestered the developers to allow their characters like Kiryu Kazuma and Majima Goro to appear in fighting games like Tekken or Street Fighter. The series’ former producer, Toshihiro Nagoshi, had frequently dismissed the idea, saying, “I don’t really want to see Kiryu hitting women.”
Like A Dragon series producer and writer Masayoshi Yokoyama, who took over for Nagoshi in 2021, has a different take: Please think bigger.
“I think it’s better to say that going across mediums like how we did with [the Like A Dragon: Yakuza TV] series is better, rather than just going to another game,” Yokoyama said. “We receive all kind of invitations to appear in other games, but we never actually went over to their doorstep and said ‘let us in.’ I think going cross-medium is the better way to go about it.”
That’s certainly a more flexible and more ambitious answer than ...

If I recall, didn't he say he was against Kiryu in fighting games because he's against him hitting women?

That "against him hitting women" thing was from Toshihiro Nagoshi, who's not in SEGA anymore now.

This one is from Masayoshi Yokoyama, who took over for Nagoshi in 2021.
He has a different opinion.

While I know it's Akira Yuki in the video, but somehow this "Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown & Yakuza Series Collaboration Pack" thing's also happened after Masayoshi Yokoyama took over RGG Studio for Nagoshi in 2021.

Skydance to produce a live-action adaptation of SEGA’s Eternal Champions

Quote
According to The Hollywood Reporter, American media production company Skydance is set to produce a live-action adaptation of the SEGA Genesis classic fighting game Eternal Champions. Derel Connolly, known for his work on the Jurassic World movies, has been assigned to write the script. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce the project for Skydance, while Toru Nakahara, who oversaw the adaptation of SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, will produce on behalf of SEGA. I only know mininal on Eternal Champions, seems an odd choice when any other Sega fighting game would do.

Story-wise, Eternal Champions is the one with most elaborated story among all SEGA's fighting games.
If you've ever beaten the game, you'll know that because the ending will throw a wall of text about what's happened to the character after they won.
Their in-game character biographies also written a lot in the game :

Plus it also has two 200+ pages gamebooks.

Retro-Bit Gaming shows off its upcoming SEGA Saturn Fight Stick

Quote
Retro-Bit Gaming has been releasing high-quality, officially licensed SEGA controllers for years. From Genesis to Dreamcast, they’ve had a strong lineup. However, they haven’t unveiled a major product like this until now.
Introducing Retro-Bit Gaming’s high-quality SEGA Saturn fight stick. Inspired by the Japanese SEGA Saturn Virtua Stick, this sleek controller features a black finish instead of the traditional white.
It has also come to my attention that the fighting stick is ...

Falling in love with Retro-Bit and their passion projects on not only making classic-era controllers but making them more functional for modern games.

There's also 2.4G wireless Dreamcast controller with a six-button face layout beside that Saturn controller in the pic.
If only SEGA release that kind of controller back then. it would be perfect companion for Street Fighter III.

I don't have any of the Virgon Books, but I have the whole collection of Adventure Gamebooks.

~Did You Know~
Martin Adams is actually a pseudonym of three authors, James Wallis, Carl Sargent and Marc Gascoigne. James Wallis also written the GameBooks: Metal City Mayhem and Jungle Rangers.

There's a Dreamcast controller for PC? Does it have twin analogue sticks?
