4CYDE is somehow pretty chill about it, said they knew the risk: ""SVC is shut down because of using Capcom's characters and likeness, nothing else. With any fan game, that's the risk and we have no regrets making the game happen. Thanks to everyone involved in the project. Glad we reached a season 1 release. Overall, stay tuned!"
And for changing into another game company charactes like NAMCO's, there's no guarantee that NAMCO wouldn't send a C&D letter like CAPCOM, so probably the'll change all characters into original ones.

Producer Letter #19 from Seiji Aoki announces an imminent update for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage with bug fixes, Arabic and Hindi language support, and a new "Forced Relay" online battle option.
The letter confirms the game's expansion to Xbox PC matching other platforms, with availability on Game Pass starting September 10th.
It congratulates tournament winners Mashman at CEO 2026 in Florida and GNS | Lauffares at the first official South American VF event in Argentina, while previewing the upcoming TRETA Championship in Brazil.

There's another fan project from another team, 2D fighting game though, "Sega vs. Capcom: Fighting Mega Stars Genesis", and they're still safe right now since they really keep it low.
