SEGA Opens Player Survey for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Updates

The hit kart racer, out since last September on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC, and more, draws praise for its dimensional tracks, customization, and crossovers like Mega Man and SpongeBob. This four-minute survey covers play habits, favorite features, and wishlist items—like fresh courses, Super Sonic boosts, or collabs with Rayman, Bayonetta, or even Godzilla in the teased Season Pass 2. Fans shared excitement for skill-focused tweaks and dream characters, while SEGA quickly fixed early glitches; non-owners can join too before the June 30 deadline.

I don't know, may be it looks good on their quarterly reports for the investors or that's what their investors want.
Either way, they always mentioned it there now, even when saleswise the games didn't perform well like Sonic CW and Shinobi AOV.

I guess it's their way of saying to the investors "we're done making bad games" and shift the focus on a marketing aspect.
It just sounds a bit crippling. Imagine if they cared what IGN reviews thought of their games!
That pic. That's not fat ... that's ...

Well, it's from a mod where gold rings are replaced with onion rings. When Sonic gets a ring, he gradually grows a bit fatter. But the more he runs, the more he lose weight. It makes an intersting gameplay mechanic over when to collect rings and when to ration them.

That's not a fair comparison. IGN is just one website, Metacritic consist 100+ websites.

Interesting but for me it's also kinda annoying. I don't even like playing as Super Sonic since the depleting rings could give me an anxiety.

I didn't know that. But still, Sega limiting themselves over Metacritics judgement over doing what they think is best, isn't that still bad? Perhaps decisions such as re-releasing old games for modern platforms may help reputation of said games, but if Sega won't do it because of Metacritic scores, wouldn't that be detrimental?

True, but playing as Super Sonic with magnetic Thunder Shield is an absolute dopamine abuse!
