Sony announced it will stop issuing physical discs for PlayStation games from January 2028 onward and plans to shut down PS3 and PS Vita digital stores between late 2026 and July 2027 depending on region.

The decision has sparked gamer outrage, including PlayStation Plus subscription cancellations, boycott threats under hashtags like #NoDiscNoBuy, and lawsuits accusing Sony of monopoly practices. Analysts predict Sony will not reverse the shift to a digital-only ecosystem due to the profitability of digital sales and over 50 million PlayStation Plus subscribers.
With the PlayStation Store closing on PS3 & Vita, a few Sonic & Sonic Team games will no longer be available anywhere digitally.

True. Steam Machine is more of a gaming computer with Steam fixed as it's OS. It's why I never got one given my computer can run Steam and its games just fine.

They could've remade, or the very least re-release Shadow's game during Fearless: Year of Shadow. I doubt they will re-release Sonic Heroes for the same reason. Despite the fact Sonic Heroes doesn't need to be ported to PC, it already has a PC release. Sonic Team could probably just add a few mods to it to make it run on current PCs.
