SEGA Game Gear Mystery Mini-Figures are now available in American Walmart and Target stores.

This time, the team decided to sell them in the format of "blind boxes" (also known as loot boxes). Each box contains a 2-inch figure that can be displayed inside a mini Game Gear cartridge, as well as a transparent stand.
The cartridge opens: inside it are artworks of specific levels and a mount that allows the character to be installed if the collector does not want to use the common stand.
A total of six characters are available. Currently, there is no ...

Is it true that at one point, Sega considered ending the Sonic series? With Sonic Frontiers being the last game? (Which would explain why Amy, Tails and Knuckles seem to decide bigger plans without Sonic after the end of the game.)
It does but I dislike it.
It's still more comfortable than holding the wiimote horizontally.

How would you improve combat in S&tBK?

Yes, but from what I read in Famitsu, that was in the mid-2010s (following a string of poorly received game releases, including Boom series and Lost World), long long ago before Frontiers, even before Mania & Forces.
The board considered canceling the entire Sonic the Hedgehog franchise but Iizuka and Sonic Team managed to convince them to give a chance one last time with Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, and the movie.
Thankfully the movie was a success while both Mania and Forces were also commercial successes too (Sonic Forces might be deemed a critical and creative failure but in term of sales ... somehow it sold well, especially on Switch which was still a new console at that time. Switch version (physical) even defeated both the physical sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions combined.).

I'm not sure, may be thinkering with the sword mechanics more. Since the movement is automated on rails, we can often just jump over enemies instead of engaging with the sword mechanics. But then again if the enemies are unskippable and have to be defeated, it will break the fast-moving platforming flow.

Sonic Team Head Says Franchise Is Only Halfway to Full Potential After 35 Years

Quote
In a Japanese magazine interview, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka shared that the hedgehog series remains only halfway to its potential, echoing early Sega goals to surpass Disney. He pointed to the billion-dollar movie franchise and over $1 billion in annual licensing as steps forward, now aiming to draw in even more fans through games, media, and ...

Director Jeff Fowler: "We made, Sonic 4, into a dark and serious film, because Team Sonic and Amy have to fight a bigger threat, worse than Shadow."

Quote
Filming wrapped earlier this year on Sonic the Hedgehog 4, set for release on March 19, 2027, with Kristen Bell voicing Amy Rose alongside Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow. Fowler shared that the film ramps up stakes into darker territory to match the escalating danger, following Sonic 3's deeper emotional beats with Shadow.

So Frontiers was never intended to be "The End" of the series... even though it feels a bit like it?

Wouldn't skipping enemies give the "Coward" collectible?

With my concern over Sonic potentially being cancelled at one point, as well as Sega struggling (and in-fighting between SoA and SoJ), it's hard to imaging Sega ever getting back on top as they once were.

So Frontiers was never intended to be "The End" of the series... even though it feels a bit like it?

Forces actually was meant to be the end of series if it failed.
Eggman's winning, all around the world was governed by Eggman, and when Sonic and friends eventually won, they're left with a ruined world that's destroyed by Eggman.

Wouldn't skipping enemies give the "Coward" collectible?

You meant "chicken" emblem? I'm not a fan of achievement or trophies thing especially if they're not the main gameplay. LIke in Yakuza where you got to be good at playing mahjong to platinum the game.

Other example is Sonic Mania. I love Sonic Mania but the blue spheres bonus stages? I hate them. Bonus stage with different gameplay than the main gameplay should've stayed as bonus, not important thing that and I hate them that needed to unlock new features.

With my concern over Sonic potentially being cancelled at one point, as well as Sega struggling (and in-fighting between SoA and SoJ), it's hard to imaging Sega ever getting back on top as they once were.

All the struggle was in the past. They're good now ... financially at least. May be not back on top, but they're still among the Top 10.
