If have it in my Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection but I'd definitely buy this 3DS re-release because unlike Berto I'm a Sega Fan.

Updated with the recent news.

Also, no, this isn't the first time Puyo Puyo Tsu was released outside of Japan. The first time was with the Neo Geo Pocket version called Puyo Pop, and the second time with the Wii Virtual Console as an import title.

Of course you have to buy it.
It's different with the one in Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection.
This one is 3D !!!!  :P

Btw, had I known  Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives 2 would be localized, I'd prefer the NA version.

With the news of another Puyo Puyo game making it to the west it's made me want to get into the series again. I've played it in the past on various platforms but it's always just so hard I end up giving up. I'm gonna try and stick with it this time. Been playing the version that comes in Project Mirai DX currently.

This video really is something

They(the pros at this game) play so fast. It's so cool. You also see though that even they make mistakes, game just naturally gets complicated when you are making chains.

Puyo Puyo is comparable to a fighting game actually. There's a learning curve in order to get the most mileage out of it. Spamming two chains to beat generic CPU opponents is basically the equivalent of fireball spam, but against savvy opponents you'll need to do more then that. There's a sense of both offense and defense. Sometimes it's better to go offensive and slam your opponent with a barrage of weak chains to prevent them from recovering, sometimes it's better to be defensive and build up a chain that can endure garbage.

If you want a starting point, I'd recommend learning about stairs and sandwiches. They're the most basic way to understand how chains work. Practice through repetition, but remember that you'll also need to learn things like transitions, triggers, and audio and visual cues.

Thank you for the info. I've been reading and practicing, slowly getting better!

Stumbled upon this match on youtube of puyo puyo tetris. it's so crazy. one guy is obviously a pro at tetris and the other at puyo puyo. It's really interesting seeing how different their playstyles are. Game really gets intense. SEGA did a good job merging the two together.

Although I do know from personal experience with this game that you have to know what you're doing with Puyo in order to compete against Tetris, Tetris destroys puyo in terms of balance if you aren't familiar with puyo.

Made more updates based on recent news, including a trading card game and more books.

Also finally have an official logo!

Happy Puyo Day, people!

Heads up, but there's gonna be a Puyo Puyo NicoNico stream that will talk about the franchise's anniversary on the 25th.

Roughly 4 hours of discussion is gonna be a lot to digest.

A quick recap.

Well, frankly, the stream was surprisingly underwhelming. Despite the 4 hours, a lot of it was filler that focused on Puyo Puyo Quest and Puyo Puyo Quest Arcade. Some merchandise was confirmed though, a T-shirt and a doll loosely based on Arle. There was also a retrospective with every game released so far (well the major ones, sorry Puyo Puyo DA! you can piss off) and people playing some of the games for fun.

Probably the highlight of the stream was that Yuji Naka made an appearance actually. There's even an interview in Famitsu between Naka and Puyo Puyo producer Mizuki Hosuyamada http://www.famitsu.com/news/201602/25100038.html

You don't seem to get a ton of responses here but I wanted you to know I appreciate all of your Puyo posts immensely. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing what comes from the event.

I wanna play the transitional Puyo game more than RPG game like Quest

I know puyo from Quest,I love the characters and musie but hate the game.
I have a wii at home, but last puyo game in wii is 20th Anniversary and I don't sure I can find it, as it release more than 4 years

Well, Wii has been done with for a while. Do you own any other systems? Interested in getting a new one maybe? The PS4, Xbox One, and Vita all have Puyo Puyo vs Tetris that you can import from Japan. It's a lot of fun!
