I imagine they manage to dom the anime market because SegaSammy had lots of anime studios as subsidiaries.

Also Neon Genesis Evangelion (SEGA is one of the producers) helped a lot.
NGE was very popular back then, all reviews were postive.
NGE Saturn games add one harem member female character that wasn't present in the anime version and Japanese fans were hyped about it.

And yes, it means no Season 2 of Shenmue for now

I guess they provide data from Sega then. Eitherway it's through TailsTube that some of my burning questions were answered.

Such as why didn't GUN get involved in Sonic Forces? Because Dr. Eggman already defeated them.

Overlord Will Be PSO2 New Genesis’ First Anime Crossover

Sega did not specify the launch window for the new crossover content. However, the company had previously shared a roadmap that includes a plan to launch the PSO2: New Genesis collaboration Scratch with an anime franchise—which fits the description for Overlord—in November 2022.
In the preceding month, it will release a Scratch Ticket lineup based on Melty Blood: Type Lumina as its first external game franchise crossover.
