I've heard one of the best ways to learn a new language is just raw input from it. Such as watching anime in general without subtitles and just figuring out the conversation as you hear it. It's how babies learn when they grow up and that skill is still with us, if given enough time surrounded by an unfamiliar language.
In term of speaking and conversation may be.
But I doubt we would be able to write hiragana, katakana, or kanji just by watching anime.
I wonder if those kids will grow up and star in Puyo Puyo games someday?
I doubt it.
They're like Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
They'll stay forever as kids since it served the purpose.
