This few months, I have been mostly watchin', "Kaya-Chan isn't Scary".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un9g38-wbHw

It's about a kindergarten child who possesses the power to not just see ghosts, but can fight and dispel them with ease. She socially struggles though given other children think she's weird or the adults think she is making up excuses or just a problem child. It's only Ms. Chie Hasumi who is the only caregiver that's supportive of her. While she cannot see the spirits like the other adults, she acknowledges they are there and Kaya-Chan is protecting everyone from them. In believing her, she has become the much-needed support Kaya-Chan needed.

Spoiler: The only spirit that is beyond her power is the one possessing her pregnant mother. Kaya-chan no longer recognise her own mother and detest the oncoming baby for whatever ghost-abomination it, maybe. It is, however, likely she herself is half-spirit.

Yeah, good anime. Before I watched the anime, I've already read the manga so the spoiler isn't necessary.
Well, may be necessary for another 2-3 people who's happened to read this forum.
Funny thing is ... the scariest opponent to Kaya isn't a ghost, but humans, since her power doesn't affect them.

Yeah, she was almost child-napped, which goes to show for an anime about ghosts, there's more scarier things for children to experience as well as for adults to look out for, for children.

More people dies because of humans than ghosts so humans are really scarier than ghosts.

Still, I watched the episode where it's revealed Kaya is a ghost in human form... which, isn't that how mortality works anyway?

That's depened on what "ghost" is ... 'a transparent apparition that haunts the living', 'the disembodied spirit or soul of a deceased person' or just a 'spirit' (but then again, why not uses the word "spirit")?

Well, we don't know what ghosts are, are they imprints of the living or are they souls without bodies? I think it's the latter. Our bodies are piloted by consciousness and energy that makes up our souls. Ghosts are that conscious-energy without the body.

But "spirit" can also be used to refer to ethereal beings, such as non-corporeal cryptids.
