The Game Business site has been a good resource thus far, providing readers with insightful information about the video game industry. In a new article published today the site has looked deeper at the record breaking Nintendo Switch 2 launch with data helpfully supplied by official sources. Here’s some facts from the Nintendo Switch 2 system launch that you may not be aware of.

- CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 was the best-selling third-party game during the launch of Switch 2, beating launch sales of CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3 on Switch 1 (NielsenIQ)

Metaphor: ReFantazio Surpasses 2 Million Units Sold

During Sega’s 2025 Management Meeting, the company provided an updated sales figure for Metaphor: ReFantazio. As of June 18, 2025 the title has now sold 2 million units worldwide (physical copies shipped, digital copies sold).
Previously, Atlus confirmed that the game had surpassed 1 million total worldwide sales on October 11, 2025—the day the game released—making it Atlus’ fastest selling title.
