WhenI played Sonic Adventure for the first time and noticed Amy Rose' underwear whenever she jumped, you know how i reacted? ... Nothing at all. Yeah, it was her underwear, but given she was a cartoon, it was just a lump of white polygons to me so it never bothered me.

I thought the fans who were bothered over Amy's panty-shots were being ridiculous, but given I know Amy's flashing her undies, I guess I do understand the implication, just it never registered to me as offensive or raunchy in anyway. So when Sonic Team started censoring under her skirt (either giving her modesty shorts, or just a shadowy void up there), I always thought it was kind of silly.

Maybe because I'm not a girl to understand how sensitive this matter is, but who cares we can see Amy's panties? She knew the consequences when she decided to make an umbrella-dress her choice of fashion, and it's just a lump of white polygons than anything shaped to be suggestive. Meanwhile Sonic and the boys don't even wear trousers or underpants and no one bats an eye.

I don't know if this was international or just Asia but they were in english and I had around 10 of those Sonic collectible cards.
I'll take a photo of them someday if I found them.

Also if gameplay is the thing that fans after, there were two official ones from Kell Entertainment but the cards were included, not collectible ones.

There was a time, during Sonic X run, Sega released a Sonic X Trading Card Game, but it had a limited run, with only 110 cards made. Eventually, for the 15th anniversary of Sonic, they re-released all the cards as a single playing card game called "Sonic X Card Game".

If there was an official trading/collectible card game for Sonic, I haven't heard of it.

So I read in wiki : The term "Badnik" is largely exclusive to English-language media related to the series, as Japanese works largely use "Eggman's robots" instead; the very few uses of the term "Badnik" in Japanese media have solely been in translations of works originally written in English.
So I believe it's not about they forgot, it's just the difference in the translation thing. Just like when the English-language media changed Fang the Sniper into Nack the Weasel.

I like to think that SoA and SoJ agreed to common grounds for modern Sonic lore.
In Japan, the villain was always known as Dr. Eggman.
In the west, the villain was always known as Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
So, as  compromise, he was renamed Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, but called Dr. Eggman by most.
