After 25 Years, Google Has Finally Killed Dreamcast Web Browser Support

Quote
While Sega shut down Dreamcast's servers many years ago, resourceful fans have been getting consoles online for some time now – and even creating private servers for many of the machine's games in the process.
Unfortunately, Google has discontinued support for the web browsing feature on Sega's console. The change has apparently impacted many legacy platforms, and it's hard to complain too much – after all, the Dreamcast was released 27 years ago.
The good news is that alternatives still work – including ...

I'm honestly not that much of a gamer anymore. It's like I got "gamers block" or something. For example, I was eager to get Sonic CrossWorld and Rumble, but I still yet to play it.

Take your time, they're not going anywhere.
CrossWorlds at least,
dunno about Rumble next year but right now at least in mobile it's still SEGA's top downloaded mobile game.

but if you can't skip it, then that's just bad game designing?

If we can't skip it then it's not side quest anymore, it's becoming part of the main mission.

*Games I have played in the past, but want to play again.
**Waiting for finished development before playing.

I might add the New Virtual Fighter Project to the list, given it triggers memories of playing VF for the first time for me, but I'd rather see it more fleshed out before I decide on giving it a go.
Now that Dolphin Emulator works for me, I can eventually cross off Skies of Arcadia and Shadow the Hedgehog from the list.

Dunno what to do for the Dreamcast games, though, I don't know. ReDream seems to be the best bet, but I don't like I have to pay a premium fee for better graphics.

Even thought Google are unintentionally a butt for killing Dreamcast support, Dreamcast will persevere.

Is Rumble on it's last legs already?

That's true.

Shouldn't you cross the list after you finished it/played it until bored?

The browser's still worked with FrogFind.

No, it's still good right now.

"Correcting The Timeline Of Gaming History" - Here's Virtua Fighter 4 'Running' On Dreamcast

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJI1Shc9gPo

Quote
Before you get too excited, this doesn't automatically mean the full game will ever be ported to Dreamcast – while Esppiral has managed to get the assets running on the system, there's no animation or physics at work here, and only a single character is shown, Akira (although it's worth noting he's rendered twice).
However, @falco_girgis, who knows his way around Sega's 128-bit console, believes such a port could happen if the ...

Yeah, I wanna get some milage before I can claim I am satisfied with it.

PSO2 was originally on my Sega Bucket List, but I long-lost the drive to finish it.
The browser's still worked with FrogFind.
My browser says it's a security risk, whatever that is.
No, it's still good right now.
Oh good.

I'm reminded of the guy who played the original Final Fantasy VII and maxed Cloud and Barret's stats before blowing up the first reactor.

That won't apply to Final Fantasy VIII though.
It's kinda considered useless to max characters in that game due to the game features level scaling for most enemies, including bosses.

SEGA x Higround: The Definitive Collection

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtdVqWjySDs

Quote
We hit the ground running with a single goal: change the landscape. Since our first collaboration, we’ve operated at maximum velocity to reach this exact point. This collection isn’t just a callback to where we started; it’s the definitive version of everything we’ve built.
We’ve poured every lesson learned into this hardware. From the speed of the Basecamp 65HE and the all-encompassing utility of the Basecamp 96+ and Basecamp 75+, to the premium craftsmanship of the Summit 65+—this is our technology at its absolute peak.
We looked to the Dreamcast as the blueprint. It was a console that proved impact matters more than longevity. It burned bright, disrupted the norm, and left a legacy that couldn't be erased.

ZONEarchive: "This is a trailer for my recreation of Daytona USA for VRChat.
This uses no original source code from Daytona USA and was coded from the ground up by observing the original arcade version and approximating.
This world features the Advanced Course (Dinosaur Canyon) but I might attempt the other 2 courses if this world proves popular enough.

The world is compatible with Desktop and VR, PC, Android & iOS.
Either search for 'Daytona' in VRChat or click here to go directly to the world link below."

I didn't know FF8 was scaled... so yuou could take on the last boss at low levels?

So, while "redream" may seem the most recommended Dreamcast emulator, the fact it holds some features behind a paywall is a bit iffy to me.
But, I found a list of Dreamcast emulators as well as their ratings, and it seems this "Flycast" emulator is more recommended by 101 votes over redreams 55 votes. It's got an open-ended emu.cfg so any options that are unavailable, I might be able to put in there (such as my screen ratio).
Other than that, the Flycast site is on github.com than its own site, and it doesn't list all Dreamcast games or rate their compatibility like redream and Dolphin does, so I don't know what fully-runs or not.
But I've downloaded Flycast and will give it a go.I know a rom site (romsfun.com) that has Blue Stinger and IllBleed so I can check those games off my list.

Yes, also if we keep your levels low for most of the game, we'll have more levels to spare when we get the "bonus" abilities later, such as Str Bonus, Mag Bonus, etc. It really had the strangest system of all Final Fantasy games.

Flycast is good. I heard there's problem with Sonic Adventure 1 and Power Stone 2, but other games work fine if the setting's right.
