But I believe it will make more fans if RoN is given a second chance.

It's a not-so-vicious cycle.

More sure, that's a given ... but how much 'more' is that?
Would they form a fan base club in social media or forums?
Even SEGA one hit wonder games didn't get many fan projects since the fanbase were kinda quiet.

Well, the reason why those one-it-wonder games barely accumulated many fans is because... they were one-hit-wonders. If these games had sequels then they would have more of a fanbase.

Sequels won't be be guaranteed to be success too just because the prequels were successful.
Examples : Vectorman 2, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Golden Axe 3, ToeJam & Earl 3, and Crazy Taxi 3.
Not every game needs a sequel ... especially if they don't have a fresh idea to keep the game's interesting.

Except for Vectorman, those games still had decent fanbases, even to this day.

Those are the prequels plus mobile spin-off for Crazy Taxi. Not those four games I mentioned.

Im saying these games are still getting instalments because they still had lasting fan bases. Take the Sega "Power Surge" for example, or the upcoming movies or Golden Axe TV series.

Yes, because NiGHTS, Golden Axe, and Crazy Taxi merchs and t-shirts still sells well (unlike Vectorman, Ristar, or Billy Hatcher).
You can still found them in Amazon easily.
That's the proof for the higher ups to explain that franchise is still having potential ... their fanbase is still willing to throw money at them on merchs and t-shirts.

Nightmare Geese animated trailer by Masami Obari

Fates intertwine after more than 26 years as Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, and more vie for the legacy of the late Geese Howard, whose ghostly and nightmarish presence continues to haunt South Town. Experience the ominous aura of Nightmare Geese, and the intense action that ensues once the city’s heroes encounter him—all in the dynamic visual style that world-renowned animator Masami Obari does best.

I guess Rise of Nightmare isn't that marketable. I would say it's unfair given perhaps it's intended for it's story over marketing... but even it's story wasn't that much.

Space Harrier-inspired "Xenocider" and Sovietborgs Game Developer Retro Sumus has Shut Down

Quote
Sad news, Tovarisch. Retro Sumus, the talented Spanish developer of Xenocider and the unreleased Genesis/Mega-Drive title Sovietborgs has now disbanded.
They have revealed this news on February 24th, 2025 with the above social media post on Bluesky and on Twitter and Facebook. Their website is now only made up of the same farewell message. This comes following their unsuccessful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in August 2025 to fund the completion of Sovietborgs, their latest game which was planned for Genesis, Neo-Geo, MS-DOS, and Dreamcast. While the team was still committed to finishing the game anyway and finding a publisher, it seems now their optimism was ...
