For the uninitiated, an Optical Drive Emulator, or ODE, is a device that can take the place of a console’s original optical drive, the device that reads game discs. On June 28th 2023, Sega hosted a live streaming event on their official YouTube channel to update players on the future kf their new gacha game 404 Game Re:Set. This is huge.There is so much info here that it's almost overwhelming. Manufacturing costs, retail margins, sales, product strategies, emails, etc.The total cost to manufacture the Saturn in early 1996 was $232 - much lower than expected.The retail margin was only 6%! Meaning retailers made only $15 per Saturn sold.Emails reveal concern that retailers were going to abandon the market en masse due to low margins.
