Finally getting round to playing Skies of Arcadia: Legends. Got to the second Save Point on Pirate Island.

Though, given I don't have a manual and there's no tutorial segment yet, not sure what I'm doing. For example, the Y button during battle changes the colour of my weapon from green to red. Dunno what's that for. Also, when I win battles, I get these gems, i think they have something to do with magic.
I also learned that I can't save S. Moves for future battles. If I don't use it in the immediate battle, it starts over next battle.

Ooh nice. is there Gamecube manual?

Also, I found the handkerchief on Aika's house. Why she used a handkerchief to cover a peep-hole and not a loquar cork is anyones guess. (Maybe she likes peepers.)

No, but better than that, there is the Strategy Guide Book here :

Nice. That will be of help.

What's also cool on playing it on an emulator is, I used something called a "Gecko Code" to enable widescreen mode! GameCube games were made for 4:3 screens, but Dolphin comes with hacks or allows cheats to remove black bars and allow for 16:9 screen ratio without stretches or distortions. (However, some screen special effects may still be for 4:3 ratio, unless stretched or so.)

Does the game get a bit saucy at times?

Oh nice, I never knew that. I always played my Game Cube games on my Wii (praise that backward compability mode).

Not as saucy as Yakuza games. The game rated T for Teens afterall.

I might've sold off my Wii U, as well as the Wiimote. If I find my Wiimote I'll reuse it on dolphin over buying a new one. If not, I hope my mouse can substitute as a Wiimote.

Meh, Yakuza ain't that saucy.

There is an enemy named Piastol who I don't think I am powerful enough to take on. I'm guessing she is in her late twenty or early thirties of "Level", given some of her attacks and magic can easily one-shot me. And given I don't have any Risen spells or items, a bit of a struggle.

Will she wait for me if I continue with the story and beef up a bit?

Yep, we can until before ending the game. All four of the battles with Piastol are optional side quests after all.

Oh good. Was worried it would affect my swashbuckler rating if I left her waiting too long.

I haven't played in a while given I struggle with lack of motivation to play video games in general. I like video games, but I dunno if I can call myself a gamer any more.

Anyway, I couldn't remember what I was supposed to do. I tried going to Nasrad but they wouldn't let me in. Then I remembered I could go through the rocky barrier, and thus I ended up over the desert of Nasr. I saw the Temple of Pyrynn and thought "Awesome! With a powerful group of four, I'll go get the red Moon Crystal now." But Drachma was all like "We should go to Maramba first, I got something I need to do there before we do this.", I figured some needed story or something... but the mf abandoned us! I would be less pissed off if he went with us in the Temple of Pyrynn and did this shit afterwards, but no, the fact he made up an excuse not to go into the Temple of Pyrynn just to ditch us... what an arsehole! Especially given his help would've been appreciated in the temple.

So yeah, he came back to save us, and now I have to fight "Recumen", the red Gigas, who I feel under-prepared for (that or I'm just not that good at ship battles). Vyse, Aika and Fina are all "We knew you cared, welcome back!", but honestly, I feel more betrayed by Drachma than I did over Bellena being Belleza. Bellena at least got us to the temple and had a reasonable excuse to stay back. Yeah, her betrayal screwed me over more than Drachma did, but Drachma's presence would've still made the job easier.

If a game could make you hate or love a character so much then they did a good job.
