SEGA's "HUGE" announcement at fes

What do you think it might be? The way they're wording it suggests it's not specific to one franchise. If it's something to do with a classic console mini that'd be dope, dreamcast mini maybe? ::)

New Console, full console.

If Shenmue 3 can be real, new sega console can be real.

Time to go to war with Sony and Nintendo!

I'd take up arms for that, I predict a 99% market share in 10 years

yeah pretty happy about the shenmue news. I've held off playing either game for years hoping that eventually a definitive version would come out.

I'm hoping they include the photo mode from the Xbox release for both versions, as well as the comic books that linked the two games and the digest movies. I'd also like to see Shenmue Passport included.

Ah heck, and What's Shenmue? included as well.

You can definitely see the photo button in the updated UI of one of the screenshots of Shenmue II... but I'm not sure if they'll add it to Shenmue I. They addressed the rumors/requests for a S2-style time skip ("wait") feature to be added to S1 by saying that they won't be adding it, as they want to stay as true to the design of the originals as possible. So that might carry over to the snapshot functionality as well.

Regarding the Mega Drive Mini... apparently this is being developed by AtGames. (Waiting for groaning and cursing to subside.) However, instead of using their in-house emulator(s), they're saying they've licensed a "different, proven emulator."  They are also removing the so-called "bonus games" (a.k.a. shovelware) that previous consoles have been saddled with. Interestingly, they say these "bonus games" will be available as a separate download... not that I would ever want them, but that does raise the question of - will other, real MD/Gen games be downloadable?
