To me, Tetris will always be a Russian-themed game. Especially given it was made by Alexey Patjinov during Soviet Union and has the St. Basil Cathedral is on the cover to classic Tetris game.
Whenever I see games adapt Tetris (IE, Puyo Puyo vs Tetris) and not have Russian representation, it just feels like it's missing some of its identity.
Hell, the Tetris theme, the very iconic theme that's known throughout the world, it's actually Korobeinki! But hardly anyone knows this, they just think it's the "Tetris theme tune".
Yes. And Alexey Pajitnov found the use of "Korobeiniki" and other classic tracks in Tetris "very embarrassing" later on.
He noted that when children worldwide hear these traditional Russian pieces, they instantly shout "Tetris! Tetris!" instead of appreciating their true place in Russian culture.
Also did you know that actually Alexey Pajitnov didn't make Tetris by himself? There's another co-creator.
He did invented Tetris gameplay in 1984, but his close friend and colleague Vladimir Pokhilko helped test, shape, and promote the early concept.
It's just nobody wanted to talk about him since in September 1998 Pokhilko tragically died in a violent incident in Palo Alto, California, which police officially ruled a murder-suicide.
Investigators concluded that Pokhilko killed his wife and son before taking his own life by slashing his throat, leaving behind a troubled note.
Struggling financial pressures with his company and stress over missing out on the massive wealth generated by Tetris (which Pajitnov and Henk Rogers later structured under The Tetris Company in 1996) were cited as contributing factors.
True. We perhaps qualify to become forum mods here, but rule over whom? Not that I want to be a mod.
Yeah. I'm not even a mod here and not interested to be one. It's basically ...

I was supposed to only take care the upcoming game list, both
official SEGA games and
homebrew games on SEGA consoles, but sometimes I found no updates for them so I just post whatever I found into another threads and from then I just couldn't stop.
