Ecco The Dolphin Creators Are Working On A Spiritual Successor Titled Dolphin Quest

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QZcAe80uCs

"Unveiled during the Intellivision Amico’s E3 segment, Dolphin Quest is a brand new underwater adventure by the developers of Sega’s aquatic classic.
While isn’t actually a part of the Ecco the Dolphin franchise, it appears to feature similar gameplay elements.
From what we can tell, the game will also feature multiplayer elements and a kid-friendly aesthetic."

Intellivision Amico delayed again
The retro console is now due to launch "by the end of the year"

Quote
"We want to apologise as we are forced to push our desired launch date yet again.
In spite of these supply hurdles hampering our ability to fill all orders, we are focused and determined to deliver pre-ordered units by the end of the year.
This will also allow us more time to optimise our operating system for future game development."

The the makers of Ecco, one of Sega's classics, now on Intellevision console, it does feel like Sega is somewhat splintered of late. I dunno if this is entirely a good thing given while games like Bombrush Cyberfunk or Dolphin Quest may not be Sega, it's still better than nothing. Same can be said to the few remakes and sequels to Mega Drive and Saturn games we had of late.

Better than nothing, indeed.
Streets of Rage 4 wasn't even made by SEGA, but it was my favorite game last year.
I'm just glad the franchise is coming back.

Sega renews trademarks on trio of obscure Mega Drive and Saturn games
Ranger X, Crusader of Centy, and Linkle Liver Story

Quote
All three games were developed by Nextech, a now-defunct Japanese studio bought by Sega in 1997.
While the three games aren’t exactly household names – in particular, Linkle Liver Story never saw release outside of Japan – they may be memorable to older players.

I guess with Nex Entertainment gone no need to let these original games for Sega consoles go to waste.

Question is will Sega do anything with them or just these franchises stagnate for years to come?

They might release it .... for Japan only.
Just like what they did with Princess Crown (PS4) back then.

Zool Redimensioned has many new accessibility and quality of life improvements added

Quote
1. Zool's jump is a lot more easily manageable when compared to the original
2. Zool's iconic spin attack now accelerates Zool downwards like a drill. This makes it helpful for tight platforming
3. Zool now has the ability to slowly walk up slopes in both modes providing a low risk/low speed way to get over large hills

Last year, we launched the Sumo Digital Academy, a talent development programme designed to open doors and remove barriers into the game industry for those who haven't followed traditional routes into the industry.
Over the course of the current programme, programming students (led by Director of Education Partnerships, Dr Jacob Habgood) work to develop their skills in game programming and software development.
On August 18th, 2021, our first cohort – who are all about to graduate into permanent roles at Sumo - are proud to be releasing their first commercial project, Zool Redimensioned.

'Disney Classic Games Collection' Gets Rated For Switch,
Now With Added Jungle Book

Quote
A new ESRB rating has revealed that Disney Classic Games: Aladdin And The Lion King is getting repackaged with a third game, The Jungle Book, and it's coming to Switch.
It was developed in 1994 by the now-defunct Eurocom and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment.
If this new edition is anything like the original collection, we'll be treated to multiple emulated versions across a few formats.

I remember how difficult the Disney Mega Drive games were... and how good Aladdin was.

Not all are hard. Bonkers and Pocahontas were quite easy.
I enjoyed Aladdin too back then even if it's hard on later levels.
That game really deserved all praises it got.
It's also third best selling SEGA Genesis games, losing only to Sonic 1 & Sonic 2.

I also remember Lion King. Was practically a gauntlet of a game... I think I remember finishing it but I can't recall.
