Dr. Eggman has released a beacon that forces his creations to rendezvous to a mysterious city as he assembles a massive army for a future invasion. In addition to causing Belle to lose her free will and head for Eggman's metropolis, the wave makes her attack Sonic and Tails. While Sonic tries to keep her occupied, Tails modifies an earlier invention he made against the villainous group the Deadly Six that blocks Eggman's waves and restores Belle's freewill.What Tails first says to Belle after forcibly installing his genius repurposed prototype could serve as an ominous foreshadowing for what could happen to her: "Are you...sure you're okay?"

While I've kept up with the comics, it's nice to have a catch-up story now and again, especially if it's worked into the story.
I see Knuckles asking help from Sonic and Tails as a nice progress for him. He's usually too proud to do that.
And it's always nice to see the band back together.
