I imagine he would really want option 1, but will end up stuck with option 2. Just like in Rise of the Wisps.

I was excited for few seconds when they do fusion thing in Rise of the Wisps, but dang ... it was all for nothing. Still funny though.

Metal SOnic fitted with a Wisp Capsule that allows him to use Colour Power is interesting. I bet he still hates his "bros" though.

I don't think he hates them.
Sure he found them annoying but not hate them.
Just like he found Sara's annoying.



The only thing he hates is Sonic.
He even refuses Sonic's attempt to help him.

It's not, even the story is separated a thousand years gap.
It's because of the limitation of pixel graphics that makes the characters look samey.
The concept artworks were different.
