GENDA SEGA Entertainment Changes Name to GENDA GiGO,
Fully Acquiring SEGA’s Japanese Arcade Management Division

The company announced it was buying the last remaining 14.9% of shares owned by SEGA, meaning SEGA doesn’t have any say in the company (and probably didn’t seeing as they had minority control).
SEGA is completely out of the arcade management business!
Now I wonder if these arcade locations will still keep the SEGA branding they promised…

To think, Sega only got the ball rolling because of the arcade scene. Now they're completely out of it.
I mean, don't get me wrong I can imagine almost any of their arcade games into freemium mobile games anyway and we're getting a remake of some of them already like THotD.

Yep, but SEGA is still making arcade games.
They're just not managing arcade centres anymore.
Arcade operation centres was not profitable anyway since pandemic started, so it's a healthy decision.

It's like back then when the dreamcast wasn't profitable.
SEGA was out of console business but still making console games (for others).

As the New Year has begun, I'd like to wish you a happy lunar new year and comment on two SEGA music games.

🔸 maimai DX International ver.

It’s been 2 years since the maimai DX International ver. started operation, which new version (UNiVERSE) released on January 27. Despite the fact that there are times and areas where stores cannot operate due to the effects of COVID 19, we have been able to achieve a high operation rate, thanks to everyone's enthusiasm.
Thank you very much for your support!
For various reasons, the music, collaborations, and several others have been delayed from the Japanese version, but we are still thinking of some surprises for you, so we would be grateful for your continued support.

🔸 CHUNITHM International ver.

Since CHUNITHM started its operation from the end of 2020, we've received a lot of feedback and we've changed our plans drastically from the original plan, adding songs at a rapid pace to bring it closer to the Japanese version.
Thank you for your support here as well as in maimai DX!
We are now in the final adjustment stage of the version-up to "NEW", which we reported at the end of last year, and we are preparing to provide it with some plans to activate the local player’s community.
For a variety of reasons, it is going to be difficult to make it exactly the same as the Japanese version, but we are working with the people in charge to make it as pleasing to everyone as possible.
We will be making an announcement on the specifics soon, so please look forward to it!

🔹 Lastly, due to the impact of COVID19, it has been difficult to enjoy arcade music games in both Japan and overseas.
I can only express my gratitude to all of you who continue to play our games even under such circumstances.
In order to respond to such enthusiasm, we, the development team, will continue to do our best to provide the best service possible. We would be grateful for your continued support.

SEGA on EAG 2022 (1st to 3rd March, at the ExCel London, UK)

EAG 2022 was the first UK-based, international event for the amusements industry this year. Due to the long break, the show is gathering lots of buzz and excitement.
The three-day event was taking place from 1st to 3rd March, at the ExCel London, UK and SEGA has featured some Hollywood licensed products and some new redemption titles there.
The licensed games include Men in Black, a skill-based video redemption game in a retro-futuristic cabinet, and Jumanji, the four-player, skill-based redemption game featuring 12 mini-games based on scenes from the movie.
