Four are still a lot. Compared them to Capcom, Namco, or Konami.
Well, I guess I'll admit I'm a bit hypocrit because I haven't been keeping up with Capcom, Namco and Konami. I know of Megaman, Castlevania and Resident Evil, and I know of Pac-Man and a few arcade classics. Was Konami the one with Digimon and a few fighting games?
Not just THotD. Panzer Dragoon Remake also got sequel.

Ooh, didn't know. Will add to Wishlist.
Yes.

Oh, well, it's mostly on me I've been out of the loop for that. Were they warmly welcomed back?

No, Digimon is jointly owned by Bandai and Toei Animation. Konami is famous for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Metal Gear, and Silent Hill. They don't make fighting games anymore.

Yes, on indie-scale though.

But Konami still kepe their classic IPs active, such as Metal Gear, Yu-Gi-Oh and Silent Hill.

The last Metal Gear game was in 2015 (Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain), more than 10 years ago. And Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links was in 2017 (unless you counted free-to-play simulator Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel). Only Silent Hill is active, especially with their movie coming this year.

Well, give MGS and YGO some time, it's usually their money-makers.

Well, they do milk them by compiling the old games as collection.
Not too different with SEGA, I guess.

yeah, but Sonic is Sega's core series, so of course they will continue to milk Sonic.

Metal Gear Solid series used to be the core, that's until Hideo Kojima left Konami in late 2015 after finishing his last Metal Gear Solid game.
Well, after a decade, I think there won't be a new Metal Gear game anymore since the game was synonymous with the creator, Hideo Kojima, just like how Shenmue was synonymous with the Yu Suzuki.

They still have Silent Hill, though.

They focus on Silent Hill because they couldn't make new MGS anymore. If Hideo Kojima is still in Konami, MGS would be their core.

What about Castlevania? Isn't that another of their heavy-hitters?

Used to be, but in the last decade it's not as succesful as Metal Gear Solis series though.
The entire series of Metal Gear has sold over 66.4 million copies while Castlevania has sold around 24 million copies across its lifetime.
But if you're a Castlevania fan, be happy then.
After a decade of just releasing collection, this year it will get a new game: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

It is kinda difficult squeezing fresh content out of Dracula all the time.

Dracula rises and causes trouble.
Belmont rise to the challenge, despite bad public relations.
Belmont slays Dracula, Belmont is either regarded a hero, or no one cares.
Hundred or so years later, Dracula resurrects, rinse and repeat.

I know Dracula is a public domain villain, but why not let some other great evil challenge the Belmonts every now and again?
What about, a London adventure that still has a vampire overlord, only instead of a grand castle and an army of monsters, this vampire is Lord Ruthven. He claims to be older, more powerful than Dracula, only instead of sitting high in a castle, he walks amongst the aristocracy and manipulates them into his bidding. Thus the Belmont can't just whip his way through monsters to get to Ruthven.

Or, for the sake of traditional gameplay, perhaps Lord Ruthven set up his base of operations in the famous Catacombs of Paris, turning the catacombs into an extended dungeon-underground fortress like place.
