Knuckles agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior

Variety has learned that Adam Pally (“Happy Endings,” “The Mindy Project”) is set to star in the series, once again playing the role of Wade Whipple from the film franchise.
The film takes place between the events of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” which is slated to hit theaters Dec. 20, 2024. In the series, Knuckles “agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior,” per the official logline.
Edi Patterson (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Julian Barratt (“Mindhorn”), Scott Mescudi (“Don’t Look Up”), and Ellie Taylor (“Ted Lasso”) will recur in the series. Rory McCann (“Game of Thrones”) will ...

Ben Scwhartz wants Sonic x Mario crossover and Super Smash Bros movie

Quote
“I’ve always thought a Smash Bros movie would be very fun just because it’s like you can get 1,000 characters from… you know, like I’m a huge Zelda fan, you can get Link in there and stuff like that – or Zelda – so it’s all very exciting that video game movies are getting more and more popular and people are seeing them. Maybe we can start crossing over, and Pikachu has a sequel and stuff like that, so I’m all about it.
I’m such a video game nerd, all of this ...”

I know Sonic has a bit of an ego himself but it's like Nintendo are the parents that spoil him rotten. Mario is a boy sure (maybe a sociopath) but where most parents try to provide what's best for their kids, Nintendo give their boy an empire.

Empire? That actually made sense.
Because Mario isn't aiming Sonic as his rival.
He's aiming for Mickey Mouse!

With Knuckles being blunt and literal and Wade being a goofball, I'm hoping it would be a brilliant adventure of Knuckles visiting places around the world or other world and an engaging story for us to enjoy. Not something like this...

I'm against this myself but would also bend the knee for a Nintendo Cinematic Universe when I've been long asking for a Sega Cinematic Universe. If Nintendo/Paramount are the first to make other Nintendo franchises into games, especially an interconnected universe, why doesMairo gets a cinematic universe and Sonic does not?

Because Sega is beneath Nintendo. But with Disney on the fall and Illuminaiton on the rise, Nintendo has opportunity to expand from video games to cinema. Granted "movies based on games" is a rickety market in cinema but they certianly stuck it to cinema snobs to get a solid footing in cinema.

Because SEGA doesn't stick only to Paramount for their movies.
It's hard to keep them connected if it's handled by different companies.

Disney could still rise again though. What if they bought Illuminati?

I don't like this Wade character so I hope they can make him interesting in the TV series.
I understand Sonic movies are mostly family adventure movies than just for kids but when they cater to the children in the audience (such as the Siberian tavern dance off) it just makes Sonic and his friends the lest out-of-place characters on a world supposedly based on Earth.

I preferred Wade in the firts movie because he wasn't over played, but in the second movie he was more depicted as a bumbling doofus sort.

I figured Paramount now be their go to studio for live-action Sonic movies.
I mean, the whole Uwe Boll, House of the Dead fiasco...

Yeah, there are many way to make character's funny without making them dumb...

Sonic movies yes. SEGA movies still no...

I agree. I know Green Hills is suppose to be some small tucked away american town but you'd expect police to at least be well trained in mind and body. Heck Police Constable Danny Butterman was a "bumbling cop" with more wits and grace about him.

Given we yet to see much of a Sega Cinematic Universe, perhaps for the best.
Not if they summon Dr. Strange...

Yeah but the MCU Illuminati was kind of naff... and dead.

This got me an idea about what if Untitled Goose Game got a movie adaptation.

See? Disney hates Illuminati so much even in their own version they made them a joke.

Possibly an inspiration, I wouldn't be surprised

After Sonic movie success, Sega says it could adapt other IPs for the big screen

Quote
Sega Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Koichi Fukazawa were asked about the possibility of making non-Sonic movies during a Q&A session following the publication of the company’s full-year earnings in April.
“We would like to take on challenges outside of the Sonic IP should the opportunity arise. If we can match the timing of game launches to the release of movies, it would be extremely effective from a marketing perspective and there are also significant benefits, such as increasing awareness of our IP and increasing the number of touch points for customers, as we achieved with the Sonic movie.”
