Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Reaches Netflix Top 5 Almost 2 Years After Paramount+ Premiere

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 reached Netflix's top 5 movies this week, almost two years after it made its original streaming debut on Paramount+. A sequel to 2020's critical and commercial success Sonic the Hedgehog, the movie sees Sonic team up with his new ally Tails as he tries to stop Dr. Robotnik from using Knuckles the Echidna to get the Master Emerald. The film was even more successful than the first, becoming the launchpad for a new Sonic cinematic universe.
Now, Netflix reports Sonic the Hedgehog 2 made it to #5 on their Top 10 Global Films list for the week of November 27 to December 3. Maybe the heat dispersers are hidden? That when in hover mode the shoes transform or something.

It could be, but for me it's really minor detail. What matter most for me are the story and action.

Y'know... I understand if it's too late for "Sega, hire this guy" for Sonic's third movie given it's likely well in development, or nearly finished production by now.

But the fact that we also have a Knuckles TV series to look forward to means Sega/Paramount are willing to expand the film series too cover both big screens and little screens. That said, I hope Sega/Paramount will consider another Sonic TV series after Sonic 3.

That said, a Shadow the Hedgehog TV series would be awesome, and I hope João Filipe Santiago will be hired for the project given his dedication to this Shadow fan film.

Or the veyr least given any recognition by Sega/Paramount over it.

While I agree with you I doubt Paramount will give any recognition for any fan things.
SEGA of America might (given how they got Stealth and Tee Lopes involved in official games) but I think they're gonna let any movieverse Sonic related thing to Paramount.

That was realy good! I love the extension of lore they added to it! And the Chaos Control effect was awesome! I can imagine this passing off as part of the Sonic film continuity.
Also, when Gerald made that presentation for the air shoes, was that Mike Pollock?

It's really well done. So much love poured into this one. I don't think Mike Pollock was involved in this but I could be wrong.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has been rated in Slovakia with a local 12+ rating which is an equivalent to PG-13!

The information comes from the Slovakian Film Distribution Union, although a year prior to the Sonic Movie 3 release.
