Yakuza movie will only move forward if the game’s creator approves the script

Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed the Yakuza movie was approved under the one condition that the project will only move forward with his approval.
“We had an offer from the West, and a Yakuza movie is now underway in Hollywood,” said Nagoshi. “In a case like this, usually you have the side that wants to (license the IP) and the side that owns the IP, and a deal tends to be done as business.
But in this case, I made it clear from the beginning that if the content itself was no good and I didn’t agree with it, then I would not want to do it, and I’ve been very upfront about it.”

My quesiton is simple. Even if the movie has nothing to do with Sonic's movie, is it still set on Wachowski's world? I know the answer is probably an obvious no but I'd be curious if it is.

Given the actor’s low voice, fans actually had concerns over Knuckles coming off as ‘sexy’ in the sequel.
While The Suicide Squad actor could not reveal many details about the Sonic 2 movie, he assured fans of one important detail.
He said that Knuckles would not be ‘sexy.’

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) and Detective Pikachu (2019) are coming to Netflix later this month

Netflix UK & Ireland has announced that two of the most critically-acclaimed video game to movie adaptations are coming to the subscription service later this month.
Warner Bros.’ Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) will be available to stream starting 16th November, while Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) will be added 27th November.
