Wow, okay, now you kinda understand why your government rely on immigration to sustain their workforce and prevent severe population decline by trying to make your country is attractive enough to make immigrants come.
In UK, Indonesia, and some countries may be it's becoming worse, but the whole world?
But long-term data overwhelmingly shows that while the world is not perfect and faces serious, ongoing threats like climate change and regional conflict ... the long-term, multi-generational trend shows significant, consistent improvements in human health, wealth, and safety.
This is compared to 1800-1950 and before of course.
The risk of dying from natural disasters reduced, global average life expectancy has rising, global literacy rates have risen, and interstate wars are rarer & significantly less deadly.
A few years a go, we had COVID pandemic. It concluded with people opening their eyes and questioning how much of it was staged by the government to see how high we'll jump if asked.
Now, people are afraid of AI. Over how fast it's advancing and the potential of it taking over and such. What if it's the same as COVID? That some of that fear is purposely orchestrated?
Now, Donald Trump has attacked Venezuela and threatening Greenland. World War III hasn't officially started yet, but he's making the sparks for it.
Meanwhile, UK is becoming more like a Nanny-state, all the while our culture being diluted by immigration. Of course, as a UK citizen, I'm discouraged to speak these opinions. Don't want the
Starmtroopers at my door.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V78yYlWqrp0But if the UK Govt are taking in immigrants to make up for low birthrates in Britain, how about making British people comfortable in having families knowing it would be a sustainable future for them, than taking in immigrants and making it more of a struggle for the British people?
Just to be clear, I'm not entirely against immigration, I accept immigration can be a necessity for any country to thrive and people who settle in a new country may take their culture with them. I just believe that immigrants should also adapt to the new culture of where they live and follow the laws expected of everyone there. Most UK citizens believe immigration is too open in UK and that immigrants are not just taking up jobs and homes, but pressing their culture over Britains and that the government is allowing it.
(Also, these "Pathway" parody videos, they're a parody of the UK Govt "game" they made called
Pathways. A game "for education on extremism, radicalisation and Prevent.". The purple punk girl is named Amelia, and she is supposed to be the "antagonist" of the game. But because the games target audience quickly realise the game is just propaganda, with most agreeing with what Amelia had to say, she sort of became a "UK waifu" of late. Amelia had some valid points and is often depicted as a Londoner who just want to protect the culture of her country... I don't like it when memes make her racist though.)
Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm getting way too derailing and political on a Sega fan forums. I'm thankful I live in a coastal town where all this has little impact on my life. But given it still an issue for all of Britain than just London, it makes me uncertain for the future of UK.
I mean, what does it mean to be British these days?
