Oh....well in that case, I bet it's something like voice actors or something. :|

I'm sick of these SEGA PR guys hyping up nothing. Like when they hyped the delay of Sonic 4. WHY would you hype that as "BIG SONIC NEWS" days before?

I don't think the Sega PR people are over hyping it... I just think the Sonic fanbase will take any little thing and start circle jerking over it or turn into rabid furious morons.

As for what it is... you'll see.

I do not understand, why is something like THIS considered such a big deal and 'franchise changing' when every single release of a Sonic game in the past 10 years has been nothing like the past releases? Only exceptions being Sonic Pocket Adventure, Sonic Colors, Sonic Riders 2, Free (lol) and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - All for obvious reasons.

Color (colour?) me confused on this one. So it's a change from one thing to another, but it's not game related nor character design related?

I'm guessing Sonic's VA is leaving, but I'd hardly call it franchise changing...

Do not think so, as far as I know SEGA is very comfortable with 4Kids taking care of all of the voice work, not to mention an announcement like this would not effect any of the releases coming out this year.

Well, we know it's a change (not an addition as, say, a movie would be) and we also know Sharky knows about it.

Sex change? Eggwoman?

I think "Sonic Recolors" fan-game is inevitable

Already done.

I will check it out come Thursday night, but I'm not excited. Just curious. Same kind of curiosity that would make you open a box on top of an empty table. You don't expect anything of value, in fact it's most likely hiding a spring-powered boxing glove waiting to knock you cold, but you go and check anyways =P

AAUK is behind this? He should announce the winners of the Ryo figures contest he held at SonicWrecks already. It's been more than a month.

I took part in it, and I believe I had a good shot at winning one. But he just seems to be everywhere doing these PR stunts and I'm tired of tracking down his Twitter and checking that garish site for announcements.

I'm finding it tougher to care about these announcements of announcements.

Me too. Chances are, it will be no big deal.

As far as 4 Kids go, weren't they sold off and bought by Funimation? That may have an effect on the voice actors contracts. It's obvious Mike Pollock's back (thank god!!), but Sonic and the others might still be in limbo. After all, outside of some grunts, I didn't hear any voice coming from Sonic.

Well, Sharky said it was something fans were requesting. It can't be Eggman's name as Sharky said he doesn't know that the said thing is being changed to. It could be a VA, but I doubt they'd excitedly announce the firing of somebody. My guess is that it's something that the average fan won't care about and the super fans will go into a rage over.

When Ryan said "people" have been asking for this, he was probably referring to these "people":
