Maybe then 1 VS 1 like a turn based strategy game.
It won't drag on that way, especially if there was a time limit each turn.

That's what I meant, 1 vs 1.

As for time limit, yeah you could do that, but even then the fights could drag on for a while, keep in mind you can rescue your forces from the frontline. If you impose a limit to that too though, it could limit the time it takes to gain a victory.

But even then, just wiping out a force or making your way to the other's base could still take a long time to accomplish, some of the original Valkyria Chronicles battles could take upto a hour to complete.

Although as I said, I expect them to put a multiplayer in if Valkyria Chronicles 3 does happen, I just happen to think a lot of matches might take quite sometime to complete unless they put a lot of restrictions in place from the original's gameplay.

Chess and other thinking mans board games take a long time... Never stopped anyone playing it.

I think VC3 could have a really good 1vs1 or 2vs2 or 4vs4 multiplayer, sure it would take a while, like chess but I think it would be really good fun.

Although they botched it in VC2 because instead of taking a fair team into battle you take your single player team at the level they are at so there is ballance issues. Very silly mistake.

Well I'd like an apology from a certain person who said any sequels to this game wouldn't happen when it was always the plan as well as rubbishing the fact that another game was going to get cuts when it was due its localisation, which apparently wasn't going to happen. According to that person.

But i won't hold my breath.

I did not say it will not, but I do not think people understand the length in battle required to play a Valkyria Chronicles multiplayer match, as I said, I doubt they will not put it in but I believe people may underestimate just how lengthy it can be without restrictions (Number of units available, number of times characters can be revived, time limit per move etc)

When I meet up with my friends to do a lan party and we play RTS games one match can last for a couple of hours depending on the game... I think plenty of people will like being able to play a slow stratgey game.

Agreed.  I love drawn-out strategy games.  My friends and I have been known to spend hours on BFME2 hahaha :)

Better to be 'not cool' then one of those anime cliches from VC2.

errr... .. no character in VC2 powers up to the 'legendary and/or hidden' level when they are about to be beaten. So no anime cliche.

Plus anime characters are pretty dense have the time.

- Start off with a character everyone misunderstands for a reason.
- find out something about this reason that relates to the past.
- This 'hidden reason' gives him power to defeat enemies.
- Those enemies are misunderstood most of the time and later become friends.

etc.

Those cliches can be found in almost most story driven entertainment, its not just unique to anime.

pls be on HD .

I agree , it lost out horribly on the PSP as Canvas is still one of the best looking next gen engines (with awesome lighting effects) I really wish SEGA built on the Hedgehog and Canvas engines like other teams have built up on thier In-House tech

The best way would to do both a High Def and then have a outside team do a PSP port.

I think it's a bit fashionable on here to rag on the PSP game because so few forum members have a PSP.  When you're actually playing the game there really isn't much discernible difference between playing Valkyria 2 on PSP and playing the first game on a Standard-def TV.
The Canvas engine looks fantastic, but the PSP game's no slouch.  The characters have just the same amount of detail as far as animations go. The character models look very solid. About the only big difference is that their faces don't look as good, but it's not one of those things you generally pay that much attention to in-game.

The main thing I would say that could be improved upon with a console sequel would be having online multiplayer instead of relying on ad-hoc.  Because again, it's a little tough to track down somebody locally with a PSP and Valkyria 2.

I don't understand why they don't just port VC1 to the 360. Not that I want to play it, but it seems kind of silly that SEGA's best stuff (like Yakuza) is only on the PS3.

If PSO2 (if real) turns out to be a PS3 exclusive, I'll freak out.

Team Andromeda, do you know if the 20th Anniversary Sonic game will be using the Hedgehog Engine?
