Valkyria Chronicles 3 Already Coming?

The bad dudes at Siliconera came across this little ditty:

Sega registered the domain name valkyria3.jp at the end of May. Previous Valkyria Chronicles  games used the domain names valkyria.jp and valkyria2.jp. Currently, the valkyria3.jp site is not available to the public and requires a password to access it.

Looks like Sega is getting a foothold for now, but, hey it's there, and likely coming eventually. Maybe I should actually play the first game already...

Extremely happy to see this happening, hopefully demand for it on the Playstation 3 will make SEGA put it there, it would be great to have another well recieved console series and, hopefully, an Xbox 360 port is also round the corner.

I think a lot of the features they made for the Playstation Portable ought to mean a good amount of replay value with online multiplayer (Even though a good match could last for hours... )

Looks like SEGA's Tokyo Game Show is shaping up to be a blast.

When Valkyria 2 was announced they said it was "the same staff" and I was pretty annoyed about that and pointed out it was less than half the staff, here's hoping this is what the rest were doing and that it's a beautiful game with a meaningful story and large scale strategic battles and not the harem anime stat grinding fluff that the second game was

It would be wild to have a series go from console to handheld to console again.

It would be even MORE wild for this to hit the 360 as well.

To be honest, even though I did post in the previous reply about it, I don't think it would be heading to the Xbox360 anytime soon, Sony have helped SEGA with much of the marketing for the game in Japan and even produced the anime for the series, if Valkyria Chronicles comes to the Xbox 360, it would mean Sony has decided not to support the series anymore, which I don't see them doing any time considering it's their biggest SRPG on either the PSP or Playstation 3.

I'd love a sequel on the PS3, although to be honest I've barely scratched the surface of the first one.

Dunno what you mean, Valkryia is one of the few Sega games this generation that when I started playing it, I said "Yep, this is a SEGA game!".

Yakuza is certainly a quality product, and its the best selling they have in Japan, but I wouldn't say that its the best. Its all subjective of course, but I personally thought Valkyrie was a better made game the whole way around.

Yakuza has better graphics (The majority of Valkyria Chronicles is not impressive) the better storyline (Valkyria Chronicles is actually pretty generic and simple) the better characters (With the exception of Rosie, I cannot think of any stand out characters from that game, now Yakuza has Majima, Kazuma, Karou, Goda, Fuma etc) and even better music (I cannot recall one track from Valkyria Chronicles that can match Grudge, Fly, Ogre has returned etc)

The only thing left is gameplay and that is subjective, as Yakuza is an adventure brawler RPG hybrid whilst Valkyria Chronicles is a SRPG.
