The man made 99 Nights, that's one of the worst games this generation and his somehow managed to become as overrated as Suda is.

I thought No More Heroes was a fantastic title, but I agree that Killer 7 seems overrated. I just couldn't bring myself to finish that game.

Anyway, this Eden business seems like one of the better games for Kinect, would love to try it out.

If you're ever in Philly next year, stop on by! We can Kinect!  :afroman:

Sanus can come too, but he'd probably have to Move.

He's been trying to push his Genki Rockets project for a really long time. I understand his passion for music but I'm not too sure about him forcing his "band" into the game. Heck, even the band's "vocalist" Lumi is THE Child of Eden. Nevermind about this, it's the part of me that wishes Underworld were in Rez talking. Either way, as long as the music fits the setting, I'll like it. I tend to like games that do this right.

What if your seeing things upside down?

What if he is marketing Child of Eden through Genki Rockets?

For all intents and purposes Rez failed commercially when it first came out, so maybe branding the next game with an established commodity would help sales?

Ofcourse one of us has to look into Genki Rockets sales records to make any further deductions.

P.S. The music featured in Child of Eden is heavily mixed versions of Genki Rockets the orignal songs are VERY VERY different.

It's a good point. How popular is the "band"? I take it it's popular enough in Japan but I don't think I ever heard of it outside of its connection to the Miz.

I don't think it will sell much unfortunately. The world still isn't prepared for this man's ideas.

Let's blow up some stuff, space marine! :(

Here's some more detail from the wiki page
Lumi is just a face, the actual music is done by:

Quote
Producers:
Tetsuya Mizuguchi
Kenji Tamai

Lead Singers for "Lumi":
Rachel Rhodes
Nami Miyahara

Also not the name for the singer "Lumi" = "Lumines"...

All his musical efforts are tailored for this games to begin with, so it isn't like one commodity is being used to market another commodity as they both are more or less the same. For the last decade or so Mizugichi has been working on the cognitive phenomenon of Synesthesia and all this is his emperical research.

The only thing left for him to do is publish a report, with a wide cross sectional sample of subjects and qualatitively measure the synesthetic sensations. He could win him self a PHD as well as get funding for all his projects from Nihon's Goverment.

The question here is why hasn't NPA (Nihon Psychological Association) or APA (America Psychological Association) picked up on his research?

As the release date nears, I've made this the official discussion topic.

Awesome video interview: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/6284222/k ... d_of_eden/

We have been asked to stick four 360 controllers on our bodies. Nice!

Surprised this is in 'gaming', at SegaFanatic we had a special tag for news stories called 'Sega alumni'. Basically we reported on major Sega folks who had departed still.

Anyways, extremely excited for the game : D the Miz man rocks.

Good to hear, my theory is sega fans love the developers not necessarily the company so I tried to make a one-stop shop for them all. Glad to hear that you are doing the same : ).

I'm really interested in Child of Eden.  My only concern is that a lot of the gameplay footage I've seen doesn't have the swift forward motion of Rez... the landscape just seems to very slowly move forward.

I'm friends with the manager at GS. Going to ask him if I pre-order it on PS3, if I get it. He is pretty cool, so most likely he will be OK. Maybe I can get a few of them. If I do, I'll give them out to users.
