Child of Eden Discussion

He talks about Child of Eden. Talks about Rez as well. Some gameplay footage.

It looks gorgeous.

He downplays the connection between Child of Eden and Rez, but come on... Eden was one of the codenames when Rez was in development.

Eden is the core of Rez's computer if I'm not mistaken.
But I don't think he downright downplayed.. He just said that it wasn't a sequel. And it isn't.. He did compare how the concept as evolved over Rez.

I put this in general since he works for Q! and the game is being published by Ubisoft.. I think AM5 and UGA are long gone..

I saw the trailer I wasn't to impressed but this feature has me hooked also the new EGM is surely something isn't it?

...Deep Breath...

Back on topic

The opening line this is not Rez2 is extremly important even though the game is the same, with Kinect he is able to make the necessary changes otherwise Sega may have been able to sue for royalties.

Remember when EA copied Crazy Taxi with a game based on the Simpsons, but I would give anything for the Sega logo to flash in the game, with unique colors or whatever leading up to it.

His other games didn't make me think of him as a huge loss but now my opinion is changed forever.

Really? The man behind Sega Rally and Space Channel 5?

I think it was a considerable loss... He made Lumines, one of the best puzzles in years.

Losing each and every person at Sega post Sammy has been an immense loss, I did not mean it like that but I weighed it in contrast to Team Shinobi members leaving for Capcom or Namco.

It's all about touching flashly lights and doing things with that, so not really feeling Eden.

The man made 99 Nights, that's one of the worst games this generation and his somehow managed to become as overrated as Suda is. All his games seem really flashy but I feel very little, if any, substance.

It's like considering Oshima was a big loss since he designed both Sonic and NiGHTS... Until you see what his had a hand in ever since.

Of course I have a lot of respect for him, but really... Most of Mizuguchi's games are renamed Windows Media Player styled desktop screensaver-quality games. If you do not agree you are part of the problem.

And knowing is half the battle.

Child of Eden is the sequel to Rez. In Rez you're supposed to save an artificial intelligence called Eden. Child of Eden.

We established that... Please read a little before posting it isn't like this thread is 10 pages long

It isn't just flashy lights, he is working around the Cognitive Psychological phenomena called Synesthesia, his games (Rez and Eden) are valid for clinical investigation and the synesthetic effects it can produce in the brain and overall on cognition.

I thought No More Heroes was a fantastic title, but I agree that Killer 7 seems overrated. I just couldn't bring myself to finish that game.

Anyway, this Eden business seems like one of the better games for Kinect, would love to try it out.

He's been trying to push his Genki Rockets project for a really long time. I understand his passion for music but I'm not too sure about him forcing his "band" into the game. Heck, even the band's "vocalist" Lumi is THE Child of Eden. Nevermind about this, it's the part of me that wishes Underworld were in Rez talking. Either way, as long as the music fits the setting, I'll like it. I tend to like games that do this right.
