Personally I hope SEGA gives Sumo the Hedgehog engine for 360 and PS3 and allows them to convert Sonic Colours to the 360. The game is looking awesome but I want it in HD!

I would love to see that!

Suzuki Yu? What has been announced? I don't see any big new game. Sega has said it plans to make Sonic games on the Wii as it is the most successful platform. I would imagine the 20th anniversairy will be a boxset or something. Unless something is already in the mid stages of development I don't see a NEW Sonic game on the HD platforms next year (Sonic 4 episodes aside). Who knows I could be very wrong....

There hasn't been on shown, but there will be one. It has been awhile since Sonic Unleashed hit consoles.

Iizuka has already hinted at a new game for the 20th anniversary and I think they'll probably go ahead with it. There's probably just too much potential sales after what, I expect, SEGA to see good will return to Sonic after Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Sonic Colours to pass that opportunity.

I'm sure the reason it was not announced yet, is because it will kill the hype for the 3 Sonic games announced right now.

Will probably announce it right before E3, have it playable there and TGS and release in fall.

Sumo should totally develop a Fantasy Zone or Alex Kidd game.

I was about to ask if Sonic Adventure was the third game, then I realized Sonic Free Riders was not announced.

My guess is Sonic 20th Anniversary is going to get announced sometime prior to E3 2011 with a release sometime in November 2011.

I'd love to have either a new Fantasy Zone or a spiritual successor to Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars. ^__^ Those games were great.

Never happen (sharing the Hedgehog engine) . One 'would' like to think/hope Sonic Colors would be coming to the 360 and PS3 or an improved version of the game, as well as all new complete Sonic 3D for the next gen

I think an HD Sonic Colors is as likely as Toe Jam & Earl being released as SASASR DLC.

I predict that there will be more Sonic games next year on more platforms at the same time than pretty much every year since the series has been around, and I expect the games to be significantly better than all of the games released for the 15th anniversary... Which is not hard at all considering 2006 for Sonic games was the equivalent of eating a giant shit sundae mixed up with piss and broken glass with only a single cherry on top.

Anyways, doubt they will announce any Sonic games until after Sonic Colors is out. Remember how fast the hype died for Sonic Unleashed when Sonic and the Black Knight was revealed? Yeah, they are not going to mess up like that again.

Well... They might, but... Hey look, Phantasy Star Online 2.

i think the next year for SONIC will be really huge

sure thing
- SONIC 20th Anniversary
- SONIC 3DS
most likely
- SONIC 4 : Episode II
my guess
- SONIC Adventure 2 (XBLA/PSN)

And probably an announcement of the next All-Stars game for early 2012 as 2008 brought Tennis and 2010 brought Racing.

I would hope that they don't make a fighting game to be honest. Now, personal reasons aside (like I think they would probably do a horrible job with the cast), a good fighting game is very difficult to make, especially for Sumo would would have a limited budget for animations/roster size and have pretty much zero experience with making fighting games.

Even a 'party' fighter like Smash or Powerstone would be difficult. They could make something that plays like rubbish filled with fan favourites, but do we really want or need a brain-dead button masher filled with Sonic Characters?
