Is there going to be an X-mas DC digital title?
« on: October 15, 2010, 06:34:52 pm »
With CT scheduled for the turkey day holiday release period I was wondering the likelihood of an X-mas/New Years DC digital release from Sega?

I would like to dream that Sega would release Jet Grind Radio for Christmas, but given the unlikelihood of that I will settle for SA2 with SA2B add-on pack.

Anyone know, other guesses?

Yeah, I have no idea really if we'll be getting anything in December. I would be absolutely ecstatic if Ooga Booga somehow made it into the Dreamcast line-up.

Sega is doing a Christmas Yakuza DLC to make-up for the cut content in the western release. Yeah..

It would be nice if they kept up a monthly schedule of DC releases. I'd be pretty happy with Chu Chu Rocket.

Does SEGA own games dev'd by Visual Concepts? Ooga Booga and Floigan Bros would make for great XBLA/PSN titles, but I'm not sure SEGA could rerelease them without some sort of legal issues.

I hope they are able to. I love both of those games.

Hey, remember how they thought they could release TJ&E on XBLA? Yeah...hopefully nothing turns out like that.

I'd put money on Chu Chu Rocket. I doubt it'd take very long to port.

I was going to post about this topic. They mentioned 18-24 games within a year. This approximates to 1 every 2-3 weeks. I thought that was ambitious but as the "Technology was built" to port DC games thought it may be possible. But with SA an CT being PC ports I seriously have my doubts now and think that 10 games within a year could even be pushing it as it has been almost 5 weeks since SA and no more for another month... Personally, I just want Shenmue

It would be pretty nice to give other people a chance to play through Shenmue that missed it the first time around.
I still want more Space Channel 5 personally.

Well i already have most of the "usual suspects" for DC rereleases, but i'll definitely be getting SC5P2, missed it first time round and thought the first was great kitschy fun. Don't see many jetsons themed games after all.

If you even kind of enjoyed the first title, you'll love the second one.  Hands down, one of the best video game sequels of all time.  They improve on everything, and just go all out.
Space Channel 5: Part 2 is one of my favourite games of all time.  I've got it on Dreamcast, PS2, and the second it comes out, I'll be downloading it for PS3. Can't effing wait.
