I've always been a big Offspring fan (The Kids Aren't Alright is one of my favourite songs of all time), and when I first played Crazy Taxi, that was one of the big factors for my enjoyment. It was like, "hey, there's this game that's full of music from The Offspring, and as an extra bonus, it's pretty fantastic to boot."

I finally got a chance to see them live last year, and Dexter did this really great version of Gone Away by himself on a piano.

Oh man, I'm exactly the same! I was a huge Offspring fan (still am to an extent) and having their music in Crazy Taxi was just awesome. I felt that the music just really fit the game nicely, I especially liked the drum beat from Americana being used in the menu screens.

I remember seeing them live years and years ago, it was very cool.

I seem to recall a SEGA event during the Dreamcast years in which the Offspring performed live. Anybody know if that actually happened or am I just imagining things.

@Fluffymoochicken:
I get that sentiment of constant radio play turning you off to things. We're only down to one real Rock radio station, and they play Metallica's rendition of "Turn the Page" so many times that I cringe most times I hear Metallica now.
That said, some of their non-singles might be worth a shot.

@MademanG:
Right there with you on that drum beat. I also really enjoyed No Brakes making an appearance in Crazy Taxi 2.

I third these opinions.

The Offspring are one of the bands I've most listened to in my life.
Whenever I boot up CT I still start screaming the lyrics like a madman.

Can't say the same for Bad Religion, but I like their CT songs too.

I've yet to see either on concert, though The Offspring came here two years ago (alongside freaking Linkin Park. I remember hating myself for not getting my shit together to go see both)

IGN gave this a 6. Basically they said the music fucked up what was a good old game showing it's age.
They made no mention to custom soundtracks, but that really isn't the point really.

I will concede that it's not the same Crazy Taxi without The Offspring and Bad Religion soundtrack.

But would it mean that it's a better Crazy Taxi without them? I report, you decide.

Nah, I could have sworn that news reports were saying it would be up on the 17th. But whatever, no matter. :P

I've actually begun wondering if I really want to buy this game after all. Considering that I can always just hook up my old Dreamcast and play the game any time I want to (with my own music playing in the background), I'm not sure of what purchasing this would be good for other than for bragging rights.
