By the way what good was his flying for anyway?

In Sonic 2, he never helped with this abilities nor could we access his abilities while playing as him. His flying was made useful only in Sonic 3 and Sonic Adventure.

I am pretty sure most people who make Sonic games now do not even know why he was made to be a hedgehog at all (rolling).

Have you ever actually come across a Hedgehog in real life before? Because they don't roll... They curl into a ball shape when scared. But they do not 'roll' anywhere.

You're about as likely to see a Hedgehog roll anywhere as you are to see them spin dash or homing attack.

On the other hand they've TOTALLY forgotten why they made Tails a fox, so he could fly, obviously!... FUCK YOU SONIC TEAM!!!

If you were serious about that comment you just made, then you are a retard.

Oh yeah, I see it now. The rolling had nothing with him being a hedgehog. The first few set of games had no rolling in it either, it was all high speed action and QTEs. His spines were always jell-like, right? Even though the biggest unique feature of the original game was rolling to crash into enemies and walls? Jell blobs can do that.

If Adventure 2 is released on XBLA/PSN, it would be cool if it came out around June 19th, the release date for Adventure 2 nearly 10 years ago.

It will probably be closer to March I think. I expect the next major console release to be released very close to the June 19th 2011 date though.

Of course it could easily be the employee making stuff up. I just think it might mean something though. SEGA ready to reveal projects in early 2011.. and if GameStop already knows stuff about it.. that Game Informer reveal is looking more likely

what reveal?

That was my thoughts.

Game Informer had an exclusive interview where Pritchard revealed SEGA would have 2 to 3 Sonic announcements in early 2011.

^The best Sonic has ever looked imo... Not just that render but I mean his current Unleashed/Colours/S4E1 model...

If I could change anything I'd knock an inch off of his spines. But as it is, I think it has the best of the old and new. He has the stumpy small look of his old model with out the stupid pot belly. The sideways grin is back instead of that angry look they were giving him for a while. The shoes are perfect, I even like the slight wear and tear. Much better then those trainers they had him in for a while... fuck that.

I also LIKE most of the new additions, I think the green eyes actually add to the character and make it a bit more interesting and I like the way his ears kind of look like horns. Also, another subtle thing I like is how his legs are thinner at the top and get wider as they go down...

Also he seems to be a lighter shade of blue since the Adventure-Sonic 06 days.
Another thing I like.

Like it a lot me too, is an excellent SONIC model, I hope will be also used for the new games; however for the much-rumored major title of the anniversary, I expect something more surprising, perhaps linked to both the "old" SONIC that the new design.

Eh, I still like that classic 2D look best, but that's probably the best of the 3D models.

Which classic model... He looked different in all of them. In Sonic 1 his head looked weird at the back it was rounded and then the spikes kind of pretruded from the back centre... That with his pot belly it looked pretty rubbish.
As you see here:
http://www.sonicscene.net/media/scans/b ... ic1usa.jpg

Sonic 2 they smoothed out his head, he looked much better in the actual game although the boxart, while one of my favourites... He still has that weird head with the single line of spikes going on. I don't like it at all.

Sonic 3 he looked fucking terrible again, both on box art and ingame. Worst redesign yet.

In fact the first time, IMO Sonic in his classic model actually looks good is Sonic CD art and Animated intro... Funnily enough though I HATE Sonic CD it just flat out sucks as a game.

Classic Sonic is so hit and miss imo, there were so many different looks they gave him and usually all at once with the box art not even matching the ingame look... It just wasn't that great.

At least now Sonic has kept a very similar style for a number of games, he matches the artwork and renders and it's a pretty good model.
