There's a lot of people who are digging Akiyama.

I was watching a couple of Yakuza of The End videos with him featured and I can't help but smile. Something about his swagger and his mannerisms feel so welcoming.

Yeah, Akiyama's definitely awesome.

Well I'm starting the 4th character and sure enough, shit is going down. About time.

This is what I'm talking about. 8-)

Good ol' Electronic Boutique (That's Gamestop to everyone else) broke street date for Yakuza 4, so I picked up my Ichiban Edition today! I installed it (best install screen ever) and had a quick go of it. I can tell I am goin to lose fucking days in this game already. I only played up to the first fight with Akiyama since I have to leave for Melbourne for 5 days tomorrow and wont be able to play it. I'll give it a proper playthrough when I get back (I'll have about 6 days straight of annual leave as well, so I'm going to be playing near-lethal amounts of it.)

I just finished training fighters with Seijima.  Awesome game so far.  It has made me a little irresponsible with work.

Looks like I might have to wait a few more weeks. Damn trade routes and somewhat niche games not having a good relationship!

Everyone who talks about the story here remember to black out your text, I really do not want to get spoiled but would love to continue reading everyone's comments on the title.

Just beat it.

I'm not the one doing the Segabits review but I'll write a review and throw it up on Gamefaqs.com/my blog like I always do for anyone whose interested. It will of course be spoiler-free.  8-)

So i've been quitely playing the games. I had received(yakuza 4) the game last friday but I still had to finish 3. Man it was rather short but still satisfying. It was good that I allready had Yakuza 4 ready. So yeah going in with low expectations after reading some reviews I gotta say that i'm really more impressed than I thought I would. 3 layers in Kamurocho?? That is friggin awesome. I like Akiyama's character alot and it seems to soak me in alot more than 3. Man i'm having a blast. I didn't really go deep with Yakuza 3, I might go all out with 4, hostess bars did not get cut out so i'm looking forward to it. :afroman:

Finally finished Yakuza 3 just now... moving along to 4 directly.

I know some people weren't into dealing with the orphanage, but I really liked the Okinawa setting and to my own surprise really enjoyed the fishing game.

Started playing today, and I haven't really let up all day. Really enjoying it so far, the rooftops and underground of Kamurocho is really well implemented.

Not sure what else to say, it really does feel similar to Yakuza 3, but at the same time has a lot of really nice improvements (The levelling up system in particular sticks out). Been looking out for side missions too, finished all of Saigo's training missions which were interesting.

This isn't exactly a spoiler, but I was dying to know this as I played.  Before the end, you get a chance to finish up everyone's side quests.  I'm working on that now.  :)

I'm at the same spot right now :).

While Yakuza 2 holds a special place in my gaming heart, I could definitely agree with anybody who says that Yakuza 4 is the best title in the series. The engine is a bit dated, but it doesn't really hold things back for me personally.

I think I'll actually put some time into the extra stuff now.

Hats off to Daemon Hatfield for this great feature about Yakuza 4.

It's kinda of a Mythbusters-esque sketch about how the japanese mafia operate.
