Tried to watch the Speed Racer movie on bluray and despite the crisp visuals and great soundtrack, I just couldn't finish it. Paper thin plot, boring characters, obvious twists and overly long running time. Should have been 90 minutes, not 135 minutes. After 60 minutes I shut it off and returned it.

I saw THE TOWN, with hottie boy Ben Affleck.

example: Hottie boy Ben Affleck.

The movie was pretty alright. It has stereotypical Ben Affleck acting, with the Boston accent that we are all used to. I would suggest using subtitles throughout the movie, its quite thick at times.

Solid movie. Cool Mask. Hottie boy Ben Affleck.

Watched it again the other day. Great movie, and Clint is hilarious. Reminds me of my grandpa.

Went to the premiere of Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in Portugal.

This movie kicks the crap out of the latest Harry Potter flick, the pacing is fast, there's not a single dull moment, everything that happens in pertinent to the story. It's a fun adventure for kids and parents won't be bored out of their minds.

Arguably the best Christmas-themed movie of 2010 thus far.

^ Good film.

I went on Christmas day to watch True Grit. The trailers made it seem like it would be an action western movie, which it really wasn't. It was more about comedy and how the characters interacted. Good film, don't be lead to think you will be seeing much shooting. There is shooting, but not much.

That being said, never seen True Grit with John Wayne.

Probably the best movie in the theaters this winter, since there isn't that many good ones.

^True Grit is out in the US Already? Aww man I've been hanging out for this but it's not out until later in the month.

But, comedy you say? I was expecting a drama/slow movie or sorts, but not a comedy.

It has the whole ' I hate you, you texan' between Bridges and Damon and the little girl being 'smarter' than everyone else, so when they don't take her serious she puts them in their place. More comedy than drama I thought.

That movie came out out on the 23rd I believe.

I just watched "Young People Fucking" on Netflix. I've wanted to check it out for a while, but I haven't seen it around town.
It's kind of like a Canadian version of "Love Actually", but there's a bit more focus on sex itself, than relationships in general. Probably closer to "Swingers" in tone.
I really liked it. Lot's of little bits that reminded me of relationships that I'd been in, or those of people I've known over the years.

Just got back from The Fighter.
Really well done performances all around. I was surprised at how many times I was laughing throughout.
