Well, traded in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. What did I get? Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

In before Sanus talks about how its a disgrace to the series because the women are all of a sudden slutty.

It is not because they are slutty, the fact they are playable at all bugged me. It is the same problem everyone used to have with Sonic games, Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be about Ryu. If they wanted to do something else then they should make a spinoff or at least make the other characters optional, and not so gimped and randomly in the story out of nowhere.

There is a lot I can complain about that release, but we can be here all day. I hope you enjoy it regardless! You are not as big of a nerd to the series, so I assume you will.
I like it so far. I guess its because I wanted something different from Ninja Gaiden II, I already beat that game.

Just finished EarthWorm Jim HD. On Normal. And it was still hard. Might try an Original Difficulty playthrough sometime.

I beat the main story on MGS: Peace Walker. Some of the extra missions seem to be doing a bit of an epilogue, so I'm still playing :D.

Fantastic game. Probably my second favourite in the series following MGS3: Subsistence.

DeathSpank is actually really addicting. $7.50 well spent.

Hey thread, I'm not stupid!!!

Playing Just Cause 2, picked it up for the low low price of 17.99 at GameStop. Awesome game, though I'm currently at a protect mission that is rather annoying. I keep running out of ammo. :P Still, lots of fun. Reminds me of Tenchu with the grappling hook, and the island is HUGE.

Sure I have a lot of games that are still unfinished, but JC2 looks to be one of those games that I don't mind never finishing. As long as I explore all of the island I'll be satisfied.

Man, I had one of the toughest boss battles in the entire game!

That game is Tales of Vesperia.

Rounding the 30 hour mark in Peace Walker. It's worth noting that I beat the main story in less than 20.
I can't think of that many games that I keep on playing after I beat them. So much content. It's even got these tape recordings from characters that fill in all sorts of back story bits.
I think it'd be fantastic if they made a Metal Gear game that's about The Boss in WWII.

Playing Just Cause 2 and I'm loving it!

I sorta wish that I bought this at full price rather than Red Dead Redemption. There are just so many awesome things about JC2: The massive island to explore, how easy it is to pick up and drop missions, how even dicking around actually advances your progress in the game. Unlike GTA and RDR, JC2 wants you to cause as much chaos as possible. Rather than fearing the police or sheriffs, it's welcomed when the Panau Island military arrive. I don't think I've had this much fun just exploring a game's world since Jet Set Radio Future. Oh yeah, and the grappling hook/parachute combo is genius.

Also have been playing Viking: Battle for Asgard, Sharky was interested in my thoughts on it so I'll share a few. I'm really enjoying the simplicity of the game, such as how areas that need to be conquered are under rain and dark skies, and liberating them brings sunshine. It's a cool touch. I think it's a real shame that games like Viking and Just Cause 2 get flack for not having a engrossing plot, really what's wrong with a game clearly setting up the good guys and bad guys and then just lets you have at it?

It's satisfying to free soldiers and watch them duke it out with enemies. Combat is how I'd imagine a 3D Golden Axe to play (okay, so I know there IS a 3D Golden Axe but you get what I mean). Still have a lot more to play, but I like the gameplay and graphics thus far.  8-)

Glad you are liking Viking! It was rushed so a lot of content was cut, but it is one of my favorite games this gen honestly. Loved how just five minutes into the game you know what you have to do the rest of the game, reminds me of classic adventure games.

---

I spent a lot of time with The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 and... It is really not very good. It was an earlier PlayStation 2 game so the quality is similar to all of those, which is understandable considering how awkward the hardware was to develop with. My main issue comes from how they literally ignored the most original and unique features from the first game and replaced them with stuff like a much larger emphasis on combat... Terrible combat of all things.

It also has one of the largest spikes in difficulty I have EVER seen in a game. It goes from being piss easy for like 5 hours then becomes one of the hardest platformers I have ever seen - Mainly because of the shitty combat.

I still enjoyed it, but it is such a lame sequel and throws away basically everything that made the original game unique and brilliant, but the art, music and especially the story/voice acting were excellent. So much so it makes all of the issues easy to ignore. If Soul Reaver 3 was announced tomorrow I would certainly freak out and hype the shit out of it.

Might be picking up The Legacy of Kain: Defiance, the most recent game in the series soon. Not sure, it seems like it loses even more of what made the first Soul Reaver outstanding...

Almost completed Assassin's creed brotherhood- awesome, and the multiplayer is genius, I'll be playing it for some time.
I'll have to as I lose my job on Friday!

I got the "true" ending in MGS: Peace Walker, and decided it was finally time to play through the MSX version of Metal Gear that came with MGS3.

It's pretty fun so far. Lots of backtracking, and a bit clunky, but still fun. I think the music's the most impressive thing about it so far.

You just reminded me that I still want to play the original on Dreamcast. I'll have to look for a copy on eBay.

I haven't played the single player yet since I've been playing Vanquish, but the multiplayer is excellent! I'm really looking forward to this one after how much I loved AC2.

And yes, increased gaming time is one of the benefits of unemployment. Don't get used to it, I'm sure you'll have a new job soon.  8-)

I have had Infamous sitting around for like.. a year. I swear. So I put it in today and started playing it. The story is actually really cool and the platforming is awesome. I spent 3 hours last night just climbing around looking for shards.

Some stuff annoys me, like the bad/good isn't really well told. Like I do a mission, then I still get evil rating. Like I saved a hospital from Reapers, yet I get bad karma? Fuck.
