I finished getting all the K-O-N-G letters in DKC Returns, and beat all of the extra levels.  A couple hundred lives wasted.
There are some pretty crazy barrel blasting levels in there.

Tales of Vesperia

Damn, this RPG just keeps getting better and better. I think that it's very close to being my favorite RPG this generation. It's almost time to move over Lost Odyssey.

I'm busy level grinding on Valkyria Chronicles 2. The game is like a drug, I can't seem leave it alone for too long.

You have all my understanding, it's like "ok i do the last mission now, save and quit" and after an hour you're still there making money to buy stuff for the tank =/

I picked up Rock Band 3 and a keyboard.
I've spent most of my time in the Pro Keys trainer though.

Having zero experience with a piano, it is really tough. I find the hardest part is keeping track of where my hand is on the thing.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

I cannot believe how much they have added and improved in a year.
I prefer the game being in one huge city instead of a bunch of smaller ones.

I got an AWESOME license on Crazy Taxi XBLA. It felt so good.

And I keep playing that Tales of Vesperia game. I'm almost done.

More MGS: Peace Walker.
Really enjoying this one. The army building is so much more fun, and deeper than in Portable Ops.  The story's really good so far too.

Well, traded in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. What did I get? Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

In before Sanus talks about how its a disgrace to the series because the women are all of a sudden slutty.

It is not because they are slutty, the fact they are playable at all bugged me. It is the same problem everyone used to have with Sonic games, Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be about Ryu. If they wanted to do something else then they should make a spinoff or at least make the other characters optional, and not so gimped and randomly in the story out of nowhere.

There is a lot I can complain about that release, but we can be here all day. I hope you enjoy it regardless! You are not as big of a nerd to the series, so I assume you will.

---

As for what I am playing... A ton of stuff.

Earthworm Jim HD - It was 400 msp for the week, so I had to get it! Very good new release of one of my favorite games growing up, they actually improved a lot of things and added a very impressive multiplayer mode that actually works wonderfully. I only have very minor complaints, and most of those come from the core game itself.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle - Pretty much the best example I can think of that is everything wrong with the Japanese game industry. It is really flashy, but almost all of the fun comes from the style and what the characters are doing, not really how it plays. Great music, but it should have just been a cartoon instead. Not a terrible game by any means (though it might literally have the worst 3D camera ever), but I was mostly disappointed with the length... I beat it in like 6 hours. Seriously, what the Hell is with short as shit Wii games?!

Sonic Colors - Pretty sure everyone here already knows my feelings on this. I like it a lot, but it does not really feel like a Sonic game. It might be my favorite Wii game, so that is pretty cool I guess! I will try and get all of the red rings, but I cannot see myself getting all S ranks.

Crazy Taxi - I have been addicted to this game again. I have not really gotten into it this much in almost ten years, having a ton of fun. Dreamcast version is the way to go, but the XBLA/PSN release is not as horrible as I may have let it on to seem.

DeathSmiles - Okay, I randomly saw this game that I know was going to be a limited release for super cheap, so I picked it up on hopes of just selling it later for more money. I have never liked shmups outside of Ikaruga and Trouble Shooter, but this game just blows my mind. I am not really sure what to say about it, everything about it is outstanding, far too much details in just the basic gameplay to describe here. If Halo Reach did not exist this might be my favorite game of the year. I think this game does to shmups what Bayonetta did for action games. Just like Bayonetta, I will never be able to truly master it, but that is fine because it is just so much fun I barely care...

[youtube:2phglhow]ip9eq-CRMOM[/youtube:2phglhow]

Guwange - It is an XBLA game by the creators of DeathSmiles, so I had to pick it up. Obviously nowhere near as good, but a damn fine game for sure. I love the style, even if it is a bit too 'serious'. If this is ever the Deal of the Week I am going to bug people here to pick it up.

The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 - I am not sure if anyone here remembers, but I only just this year got to play the original Soul Reaver and absolutely fell in love with it and consider the game one of my favorites of all time now. I only just yesterday started the sequel, but so far it is good. Does not start off as good as the original and is very VERY story heavy. I have never seen so much talking in a platformer in my life, but this is literally the best voice work I have ever heard in a game, so it is not an issue.

Almost all of the changes seem like improvements, but I kind of prefer them the way they were. Still seems very solid so far and very ahead of it's time. The music is honestly some of the creepiest I have ever heard in a game and I love how "Laid back" the pacing is overall. Looking forward to all the free time I have coming up soon to just sit back and play this one for hours.

Good job beating No More Heroes 2 that fast. I think it took me around 11 hours or so to get through it. That boss in the cabin gave me a lot of trouble.

Only a few story missions to go in MGS: Peace Walker. I haven't hit that crazy difficulty spike that all the reviews mentioned yet.

EarthWorm Jim HD for 400 Points? Sign me up! I may fold and get Crazy Taxi as well.

Also I'd heard of Deathsmiles but never played it, I don't think it's arrived in Australia yet, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Anyway, I played GoldenEye again today, the secondary objectives just piss me right off. It's not that they are particularly hard, but if you miss a collectible at the beginning of the level you cannot go back and get it, meaning you fail the entire mission and have to start all over again. Supremely annoying. Apart from that it's pretty good though.

I finished Fallout New Vegas last week and it was fucking outstanding. Love the game, and I've already started a second playthrough with a completely different character. My first was a smooth talking (100 Speech) gunslinger who could sneak and break into just about anywhere. Now I'm playing a musclebound meathead who likes to hit people with sledgehammers and throw sticks of dynamite. I think I'm going to join Ceaser's Legion so I can get my hands on some Chainsaws and Throwing Spears.

Still been playing Vanquish as well, although I haven't played that since last week pretty much, will get back into it today.

EDIT: ALSO! Been playing some Assassin's Creed Multiplayer with friends from work. Really fun game, and it works so well online. It's really awesome trying to figure out who's following you and trying to stalk someone without arousing suspicion.

UNO Is up on PSN for 1 buck. Issue? You can't buy something for a dollar, you need to spend 5 dollars at least. Siege Pack + Uno seems like a good combo.

Just beat the second-last boss fight in Peace Walker. The one that's complained about so much in reviews.
It was pretty tough, but I managed to get it on my first try. Granted, that first try lasted 55 minutes. Very tense.
