Why do you care for manual transmission? Transmissions in video-games are semi-automatic anyway, few games have true manual transmission. Hell, I can only think of one.

If you want manual transmission, drive a car. It's my personal nightmare, tbh.
Because MT brings up good driving techniques (and semi-auto is plain weird, seeing as how vehicles has infinity amounts of gears, which doesn't make sense). Oh and RR7 was also an arcade racing game and it has MT. Besides, I don't have a car that has a manual transmission, unfourtunately  . If the game receives positive reviews, then I'll see what I can do (if it has custom soundtracks)

Are you European? I never could understand why anyone would prefer manual transmission. What do you mean by 'Good driving techniques' anyways?

If you always want custom soundtracks in games, just get an Xbox 360, you can bring up the guide in every game and replace the music. That said, what I heard in-game from Split/Second sounded really, really good. I am not sure why you would want to replace it! Besides, unless it is one of the worst you ever heard, you should never buy a game based on it's soundtrack alone.

Unless that game is It's Magic 2 on the Commodore 64  :!:

Eh? Manual transmission means there's a clutch pedal. How many games do you know that have one? I don't agree with "good driving techniques", really. Usually games will reward you with an extra bit of speed for using the so called manual transmission. That's it.

And damn it, I'm European and I prefer an automatic transmission in a game, especially something like Split/Second.

EDIT: I've been playing Virtua Tennis 2009. More like Virtua Tennis 3.1. To my surprise the dives were removed completely. This improved my game by a lot as I'd dive in VT3 all the time. There are little tweaks everywhere. It's a shame the game didn't get more than a warm reception. When people look for a tennis game and they go to Metacritic, they'll probably pick VT3 over VT2009 which is a damn crime, really. Oh yeah, it comes with Ana Ivanovic too. <3

Playing Bayonetta again because I never actually did get the hard difficulty achievements. Holy shit, Grace and Glory were in the damn prologue twice? Seriously, not cool. I am still having a great time though, and will not worry about my scores for now, I just want to beat it.

I am going to pick up Final Fantasy IV (Super Nintendo release) again because I was really really enjoying it but never finished because I was busy with other stuff. I have a random assortment of other games I want to try out too, and I am trying to figure out what I should review new week for my site.

Am I still the only person that has commented on your site?

EDIT: Yep.

Orta and Aki also did

Most of the people who 'Comment' on the site just tell me about their thoughts or whatever through real life or an instant messenger. The actual Takenobu Mitsuyoshi commented on my article I wrote on him, so that is great! I bet he never commented on The Kartel.

EDIT: Just played the Rocket Knight demo not expecting much because I hated the art from what I saw and I never really even was a big fan of the series.

Well I am pretty sure most of the fanbase will dislike a lot of the new stuff (makes it easier, stuff like that), but the game is seriously a lot of fun. I am actually really impressed and had a lot of fun! The controls are just so much better, the gameplay is more diverse, offering less skilled players more enjoyment, the achievements are great too! It is 1200 points (ugggghhh), but I will have to pick this one up eventually! Good job Konami!

[spoiler:2zt4mkna]Fucking Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and its shitty gimmicks like STRANGE MINECART...[/spoiler:2zt4mkna]  :x

It's a good site, I like the retro reviews and the replayability tag.

I just bought Rocket Knight last night,The first one was one of my favourite Mega Drive games and bought without trying out the demo.
I've only finished the 1st mission but have found it enjoyable, it looks much nicer in motion and the controls are fluid.

Perhaps it's a bit on the easy side but I'll have to progress further to find out.
Either way if Sonic 4 is like this I'll be pleased.

Played the Rocket Knight demo last night, I'll be picking this up next time I add points to my account. Very fun and I agree with Monkeroony, if Sonic 4 is like this (which it looks to be) then I'll be pleased. Nice to have 2D platforming again. Now Rayman and Klonoa needs to return!

Played 'Oink!' and 'Keystone Kapers' last night. Fun stuff! The simple fact that the game is called 'Oink!' makes it great.

To come back to the manual v automatic argument, a big advantage of the manual is to be able to put the car in the "wrong" gear in certain situations. For example, shifting up a gear earlier than the auto would under acceleration, or staying in a higher gear then normal in a corner to reduce the risk of wheelspin on acceleration out of the corner which could cause a spin. Useful when grip is limited, such as wet conditions or when using heavily worn tyres. Can't do that with an auto. Sometimes even the slight change in the cars balance caused by an ill-timed auto gearchange can cause you to lose control. And then there's fuel economy- put the car in a  higher gear and you'll get better mileage- useful for full-course cautions.

And yes, I have played GTR extensively. How did you guess?

Recently I've been playing a lot of Sega Rally 2 on DC. Once a couple months back i had a look at the "records" section in the main menu and saw just how many records it keeps- top 16 times in all 11 championships, top 8 in each arcade practice circuit and top 8 in every car on every track in time attack. I'm gonna set records for all of 'em. I'm gonna be at it for a while.

Well, MC:LA does have a clutch pedal (where you have to let go the R2 button). But either way, I guess you have a point. But here's what I'm wondering about Split/Second when it's out:

*Custom soundtracks
*Export your racing replays to your XMB and post it to YouTube
*Vinyl editor (hopefully)
*Car customization (hopefully again)

Resonance of Fate.

Started Chapter 4. Chapter 3 boss was pretty easy, beat him in my second try.

Fallout. Damn this game can be hard/unfair sometimes. Like I walked into a building and then got shot at by like 5 guys without warning once. Obviously I died and had to reload. I still have no clue as to why they wanted me dead. One time a guy started chasing me with a knife and I ran into the police station, they did nothing until I punched the dude to defend myself, at which point they all turned around and shot me to death.

Apart from some weird stuff like that though, the game is great!

I honestly don't think I would be able to drive an automatic car.
Even when I was in Portugal and vented a VW Golf I had a manual. (and that's despite the steering wheel being on the wrong side!)

When you start you put it in drive, then how do you stop, is there a neutral that you put it into?

I played a fewe more levels of Rocket Knight.
It's very enjoyable but a bit on the easy side.
I probably should have started it on hard rather than normal.

Beat Bionic Commando on the hardest difficultly. Will take a break from it and come back again to get the rest of the trophies (aka hidden stuff/challenges)

You could pop it into neutral if you wanted to.  The car pretty much just stays in drive otherwise, doesn't stall, but stays in a perpetual state of wanting to move forward.

Oh right.
That makes sense.
In a manual driving in the snow is easy because you put it in a higher gear to stop wheelspin, make me think you have less control in an auto.

I am 2 hours into Rocket Knight and have two levels left. It's really good, I'd save probably an 8/10 or something similar.
There's a lot of tricky platforming to do in the later levels.
