I finally have the time to go back to Batman Arkham Asylum. It's a good game [spoiler:1dbhrn5o](I'm just past the bit where Batman arrests Harley)[/spoiler:1dbhrn5o], but I really don't get the hype. You can tell there's a lot of love from real Batman fans in this game. I also like the whole vibe, it reminds me of Bioshock in some way. I find the combat dull and the stealth bits terrible though... Those "lunatic" characters are so annoying it pains me.

As far as 3D brawlers go, Arkham Assylum had one of my favourite combat systems ever.  The attack/dodge/stun/jump buttons allowed for a lot of freedom without needing to remember a ton of button combinations.  Try getting all the medals on the challenge maps.

^Getting all the medals was a lot of fun, and hard as nails too. I loved Batman AA though, so didn't mind trying over and over to get them.

Currently playing Zeno Clash still, the tower challenges are quite hard, nearly finished the story.

This guy rawks.

I'm done with Batman. Good stuff indeed, and I'll never get the hype. I'll go ahead and say the game is a tad overrated... I won't bother with the challenges as I don't like the combat at all. I blame that witch Bayonetta and her smooth... controls.

But hey, for free I really shouldn't be complaining! Time to return Batman and ask for Mass Effect. Haha

Skies of Arcadia.
I'm at about 46 hours in.  Just got back from [spoiler:2kt77s0b]the silver shrine in the sky[/spoiler:2kt77s0b], and on my way to the elevator.
I've got Vyse's best sword, and I think I'm finally getting near the end of the game.
I played it on and off for a couple years, but I've put about 28 hours into it in the past couple weeks.  Really loving this game.

Question to anyone who's played it:
Do any of you actually use the magic spells in the game?
I find that I'm pretty much exlusively using items, standard attacks, and sp attacks.  I only use the odd spell whenever I need to boost an attribute every once in a while.  Otherwise I just use the healing spells outside of battle to avoid wasting SP points while I'm fighting.

^Hmm, it's been a while since I played this game, but from memory I did use spells fairly often (although not as much as specials, especially when the specials got really good).
Healing magic with Fina is obviously very important, but elemental magic was really useful when used right. When fighting Ice based enemies using Fire magic was really useful for example. You just need to know which spells to use against which enemies and they could be useful.

Glad you are enjoying it though, one of my all time favourite games. Are you trying to collect all the crew members and make all the discoveries etc? Argh just talking about it makes me want to play it again.

^What did you think of Zeno Clash?

I just finished it today actually. Strange ending, seems like they are setting it up for a sequel. Bit short, but thats also because I enjoyed it so much. There is also a number of co-op and single player challenges which will take some time though, so overall I feel it is worth the money.

I've mostly just been going for all the crew members, and whatever discoveries I run into.  I've got 30+ anyway. The only crew member that I don't have at this point is the fortune teller.  She says I need some kind of sword, but I'm not too sure what she's talking about.

I only got a small amount of gaming in this weekend.

I played through a campaign match on L4D2 with a friend, we both failed as the extraction chopper was landing.
I have no idea how we can attack the witch without her killing one of us, there must be a way unless the game is just very cheap.

Trying to earn a platinum on JC2. If I need to earn the Harcore trophy, I have to start the game over again (which can take a few weeks or so).

Finished all the challenges in Zeno Clash last night except for Tower Challenge 5. It's a toughie.

Playing the game of real life at the moment. Graphics are amazing, but you only get one life (lame) and the cops are complete assholes.

Few days ago I got me all the achievements in ABC and have been playing Sonic Advance on the GBA. It's a shame that Sonic Advance 2 is such a stinker.

Urgh, there is so much fucking grinding in that game to get anywhere. Gotta do literally YEARS of school just to get into University, then you do that for ages too. THEN you have to get a job too. It wouldn't be bad if you could get into fights like in Shenmue or if there was a cool murder-mystery, but with one life there's no point in risking everything in the fights, and the storyline sucks.

The controls are brilliant though, very intuitive.
