I've never completed Vanquish.

Despite loving the Shenmue series, I've only played through each title once. I always held off on a second playthrough, thinking that I'd do that when the third game released. Since about 2005 I gave up ever seeing the third game, and was too sad about it to get around to playing through the first two games. I have revisted old save files and walked about the maps, but thats about it.

I've only ever beaten Sonic 3 & Knuckles by using Game Genie.

I didn't own a Saturn until it was dead in the US.

I've gotten near to the end (something like 7 times), but never cleared Phantasy Star 4 (don't ruin it for me).

Despite my great respect towards Platinum, I (so far) have near zero interest in anything they do outside of Sega IPs.

No Reason Boner during specific cutscenes with my custom character from Saint's Row 2.

Never got all the Chaos Emerlads in Sonic 2.

Never finished Dead Fear on the Saturn.

Only played the original Resident Evil on Saturn once.

Never played Resident Evil 2.

Never made it through the first level of Space Channel 5!

I find it hard to consider the Dreamcast the best console of all because it doesn't have a decent football game.

I honestly think Final Fantasy XII is better than most of the RPGs this generation and all of the Dreamcast ones.

Hate to say it, but I think NiGHTS was and still is a terrible franchise. I love its presentation, love its representation in sonic racing transformed. But the game itself is kind of meh.

Another confession is that my most jaw dropping experiences lately, have been older games. It has kind of convinced me that non inovative triple A titles that push graphics are never going to be my thing. I have always been a fun>graphics person. I can still enjoy 32 bit era games just as if not more than a great looking triple A title that gets close to 10's everywhere. For some reason I think graphics wont matter in the future anymore. At some point it will be a certain art direction that will set the tone more than an overly detailed looking game. This is kind of why I like the 3DS so much. I  feel right at home there with the tone thats set for the devs.

some dude borrowed mortal kombat of the game gear. i bought the game brand new. when i wanted it back he said he wouldnt return it cause i broke his tree hut(just one wooden plank)
i actually beat him up so much that parents had to consult about us.
i never got my mortal kombat tho he borrowed it to someone else and that one borrowed it also to someone else

the master system joypad alwys broke on me. even tho it is a very ergonomic nd better then nes. but that d pad would fall of cause it wasnt attached properly in fabrication(who agrees)

- i love the model 1 megadrive pads better (the one with the white collored start button)  i threw away the red ones and bought the white cause the de pad feels almost like an analog. best comparison it felt like the de pad of neogeo color.

i used to play pulseman for a year and swearing not to use emulation cheats and fast save. i only finished it this year cause this time i said i have to .


i hated chu chu rocket didnt understand the hype.

to honor the topic. i finished evolution 1 and evolution 2 i got to the ending boss. and then when i put the dc off. i never ever really tried to defeat the ending boss again. i was like ill look at the ending on utube.

i got stuck in prince of persia at the end because of a glitch. so i save at a checkpoin where the glitch was and couldnt enter the portal to fight daikatana or whatever the name of that black dude with strings was. i love the game but i was so frustrated cause i always overwrite my saves. and that was the time that i regretted it. never finished the games. ending movie also on utube

As this is the confessionals topic, I'll ask that our dirty little shameful secrets don't spark big arguments. Though peaceful asides are welcome. So having said that, I agree and I don't agree: NiGHTS on Saturn is a fantastic game, great art, gameplay, music, etc. "Kind of meh" it is not. However I agree that as a franchise it is very weak and is much better as a one-off title. The Wii NiGHTS was just so... no awful but just such a step back from the first, despite trying so hard to evolve the franchise. It's like The Matrix or Pirates of the Caribbean. Leave it be as a standalone entity! Sequels just degrade the franchise and make the flaws all the more apparent!

Yeah, perhaps the words I used were a little too harsh and was destined to cause some arguments evntually within a sega forum. But yeah I agree with everything you said. I actually own all the NiGHTs games despite not understanding their apeal. I gave them a chance at least. The Wii game wasn't that bad really. I think gameplay wise it does a few things better like having a better view of whats coming ahead and the overall feel of flying. But its story is cringe inducing from start to end, so i think its understandable fans wrote it off immadiatly.

But as a gameplay concept I dont like it. I guess you could say it's just not my thing. A lot of people tell me it's a score attack game and that i'm playing it the wrong way.

I don't like what Pokemon has become, and I am a big fan of the franchise.

I only can ever beat Streets of Rage 2 on Hardest with Axel.

I once beat Heart of Darkness without dying and sped run through the game...to understand how hard that game is, look it up on youtube.

Despite being a SEGA fan, my favourite colour is Red. (useless confession I know)

I have been known (at least to myself) to crossover pokemon and SEGA characters in my graphic design (Vulpix x Orta, Eevee x Reala, Pikachu x Alis and JigglyPuff x Ulala...if I was good enough to do Bayonetta I would happily do an Umbreon x Bayo crossover)

I suck at games, I can only beat most games on Easy Mode.

And wha? The colour of the Start Button determines which Mega Drive controller is better?

That does remind me of another confession...I somehow have 7!!!! Yes, 7 Mega Drive controllers....and I don't know how as I only have 1 Mega Drive.

it is not about the colors of the start buttons.

those 2 controllers are not the same at all only in housing

white start button is

very nice d pad so flexibel it almost gives the feeling of an analog shaped d pad such as the one on neoo geo pocket color.
the a b c button of the white start button version is very flexibel as well making it easy to tap for bonus games such as in mortalkombat 1

red start button is really crap
(but i guess its just a matter of taste)
the red start button d pad is stiff waaaaaaaay more stiff. almost gives the feeling of the stifness of the snes shit controller that will probably give a reuma desease.
the abc buttons are not everlasting. playing games back to back makes the A button hard to use. combine it with sticky coca cola( yes i know im exagerating on this one) will make the a button useless cause it is to close to the rubber between the actual a button and the printplate.

any old school dude over here who is at least 30 years old ok 29 is also in that range. and actively played sega genesis would easily admit this

I actually do. Might be because it was the controller I used the most and got used to it, I dunno.

And as I said, I have had a multitude of controllers, I know the differences pretty well.

Anyway, Shining Force 3 trilogy are some of my favourite games of all time (I'm talking short-list here, top 3 or something), but I've only finished the whole story once. Dicking around with translation patches and emulators to play it was hard.

Despite this, I only played SF1 recently and it was pretty good, but not keen to run through it again. Shining Force 2 I gave up half way I think. Can't remember exactly what it was, but it just didn't hold me.

Shining in the Darkness was horrible.

I don't understand how anyone ever enjoyed Golden Axe.

I've never played a Phantasy Star game (apart from a brief stint on PSO on DC, playing offline) and have no intention to play one.
