Shenmue enthusiasts coordinated their second Tweetathon of 2026 on February 04, 2026, tagging publishers with fan creations and calls for Shenmue 4 to continue the open-world adventure series started by Yu Suzuki in 1999.
A recent fan-made trailer for the sequel fueled excitement before Ys Net debunked it as unauthorized work.
Despite Shenmue III's mixed sales, communities like Shenmue Dojo push monthly campaigns, hoping to convince publishers while Suzuki hints at possible 2026 enhancements.

SEGA Talk #178: US Box Art Design (1989-2001)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b8-5qwZYQA

Quote
In this episode of Sega Talk, we track the radical evolution of SEGA’s North American branding, from the clinical “graph paper” grids of the Master System to the high-tech “black box” era of the Genesis. We dive deep into why Sega abandoned its uniform look for the iconic red-stripe rebrand of the 90s, the switch to the massive plastic long-boxes of the Saturn, and finally, the Dreamcast’s sleek transition from bright orange swirls to the edgy “SegaNet” black. It’s a nostalgic look at how Sega used graphic design as a weapon in the console wars, shifting from a toy company aesthetic to a lifestyle brand that defined a generation.

According to DreamcastLive, Shenmue Passport's online rankings are finally back online for the first time in almost 24 years, meaning we can finally find out who the best forklift driver in the world is
In case you don't remember, back when Sega's groundbreaking open-world action-adventure game Shenmue was first released in the late 90s and early 2000s, it shipped with a bonus disc labelled Shenmue Passport. This featured a wealth of additional content and online features designed to improve the player experience, from character biographies for various background characters and location profiles to helpful messages from Ryo's childhood friend Nozomi, to online leaderboards, and reviews showing you how much progress you have currently made based on your saved data.
For those who had already fallen in love with the game's world, the additional disc and its suite of features proved to be a pretty incredible accompaniment to the main game, expanding the replayability of ...

Isn;t the original still good enough?

This one has sharper visuals, 4K Texture Uplift, DLSS/FSR Support, smoother gameplay, and faster load times.
I guess it doesn't matter much for PC version but now it's released for the modern consoles too: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.

What about Sega DLCs for it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xYfx3XObLg

Nope. They're not adding that.

Well, as long as I don't have to buy the same game again.

Even if it's an entirely new game, you don't have to buy it if you don't feel like to do it.

True.

But still, they could release it as a DLC at least.

For example, I understand Sonic X Shadow Generations was built from the ground up and not compatible with the original Sonic Generations to just be a DLC-upgrade as Sonic Adventure 2 and SA2Battle was... but they could've at least sold Shadow Generations separately, or give a discount to those who owned Sonic Generations Collection.

I'm talking as a Steam customer, that is.

Instead, I had to pay full-price for a game I already had that was "slightly better" (Graphic-wise, I barely notice the difference), just so I could play Shadow Generations.

If this new Shenmue III upgraded version would be regarded a separate game, I hope it will either be sold as a DLC for the original Shenmue III, if built on the same engine, or at least offer a discount for customers who already own the original.

But we know they won't.

That's their plan at first but unfortunately while initially announced with some free upgrade paths for existing PC owners, the final release is structured as a paid, standalone package including all previously released DLC since turned out it needed to be built from ground up.
Just skip this one if you already have the game, unless you plan to play it in modern consoles.

Yeah, I'll give it a skip.

Might as well give this one skip too :

"Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition" was leaked by the Korea Ratings Committee

However, this isn't the first time this has happened.
Sonic Origins Plus was also leaked in Korea with news breaking out around early Feb 2023.
SEGA would officially announce the game in March 2023.

I don't what definitive edition means with this, but probably it's just the same games with all DLCs.

I was just saying on Sonic Wiki, if it turns out to be "Sonic X Shadow Frontiers" and they expect Steam customers to pay full price for it even if they already have Sonic Frontiers, I'll give it a miss.

I doubt it, because if it is ... they're gonna title it just as it is ..."Sonic X Shadow Frontiers", not Definitive Edition or Complete Edition.

Still not gonna buy the same game twice.
