I'd honestly have thought it'd top off at a million. But you just don't know how crazy some Shenmue fans are, coupled with Steam discounts, I can see people interested in trying it because they want to see what the hype is about.

I think it has a chance of cracking the 10m.
Check out the charts for Bloodstained, the last couple of days  are almost as big as the first two.

I'm holding out hope.

I think it would comfortably reach $10M if:

-The Kickstarter is actually managed as well as the Bloodstained/Mighty No 09 ones, with good reward tiers and stretch goals.
-There hasn't been any confusion about how the game will be funded.

I think that the reveal of the new stretch goals will win more people over. We're getting to the meat of the goals now with expanded game content at the higher levels.

Ten million seems achievable. Kickstarter will raise around 6 million I think and Sony have already said they'll help back it too. They might just fill the gap.

The idea that there might be a fourth concerns me for obvious reasons though. Without S1 & 2, we're relying on word of mouth and sales to push for the final chapter.

Do not expect much from Sony. They've been vague with their word and Suzuki is expecting majority backing from Kickstarter.

I'm not confident in it, for one it's not their IP and it's not a "true" exclusive either. Yoshida even came out and said it would get as much support as many other independent projects Sony has supported, which at best is either free tools or discount on license fees or some upfront PSN sales.

For me, I think Sony's funding comes down to that and not hard cash injection.

Pretty sure Suzuki was referring to Kickstarter funding when he mentioned the $10M figure, as he was answering a question about stretch goals.
