Good is relative.
So many games that critics and most people hate it but I like it.
Balan Wonderworld for example.
I like the music and worlds atmosphere.
Sometimes I turned on the games just to listen the music and let my character wandered anywhere.



I don't know how the game's turning out good or not before I tried it myself since my 'good' could be different than others' good.
So if it's a franchise that I love so much, I'm willing to give it a try than just relying on critics.

Takashi Iizuka discussed the future of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds DLCs. "We have one year of DLC," he said, adding that "We could do year two, we could do year three of DLC." Well, yeah. But if a game is panned by critics and consumers then it may make or break a franchise. For example even if you like Balan Wonderland, it's poor sales and reputation means we'll never get a sequel.
