So this is the Japanese Volume 2 localized, so hopefully if it sells well enough SEGA will localize JP's vol 2 as the West's vol 1 and adds a few games.

This is worth picking up a refurbished 3DS XL to me... although I would still prefer to get all of the 3D classics as physical releases, I think this is a decent compromise. And who knows, if this sells well maybe they'll do a Vol. 2.

The Master System bonuses are cool, but the JP vol 1 had better bonuses with OutRun and Space Harrier 3D. I know OutRun 3D is pretty rare nowadays.

I'm sure they will if they see a return for their hard work.

I never thought of refurbished one before...hmm.

I want nothing to do with the people who are bitching about this release. "Another compilation? Pass!", "No Streets of Rage? Pass!", "It's not the new Sonic? Pass!"

Like, look. I know it is a compilation of already released games that are themselves rereleases. But a few facts: these are solid rereleases, they have awesome bonuses and tons of settings to change the way you play. SEGA is taking a chance and releasing a physical title, something many fans wrongfully assumed was never happening again thanks to bullshit video game press that got facts wrong.

If this does not include a 3D Classic you loved, its on the eShop. If you are passing on this because a 3D Classic title isn't on it, you're being an idiot. Passing on this = no sale for SEGA = message to them is people are not interested and they will not release another volume. Simple as that. Support physical releases, you get physical releases. That is how it works.

Man the Sonic fans are salty about this for some reason, I guess having a whole year dedicated to Sonic with multiple titles on the horizon just isn't enough for the little gits.

True, Out Run 3-D is pretty hard to find (and expensive) these days - and at the time it came out, I would have considered it a dream come true kind of title. However, although it's cool that it got the M2 treatment, truthfully the Master System's 2D Out Run title is the better of the two 8-bit versions. Space Harrier 3-D is really cool in its own right.

But as for the arcade Out Run and Space Harrier - not to mention After Burner - those titles' absence in this volume gives me hope that they are planning on a second volume for the West. To me, those are the big 3 classic superscaler titles. In any event, they'll get my ducats for what is hopefully the first volume.

What I like about this release is that it is the first time several classic franchises has seen a physical release in decades. Puyo Puyo 2 is, to my knowledge, the first commercial release in America in which the original name is used. Puyo Pop was the name that appeared in the US when Puyo Puyo Fever and SEGA Superstars were localized. Project Mirai DX had a Puyo Puyo game, but the name was advertised on the box art.

Hell, the main character in Power Drift will be seen on the shelf of every major video game retailer in 2016. That's pretty cool.

Tell them their tears are bringing the joy of humour to those in the real world :)

Is this the first time classic non-green eyes Sonic has been on box art since Generations? If so, Sonic fans should be very happy.

I agree with you Barry. Its one of the worst things about the internet. One guy starts shouting some random bs, a bunch of lunatics start repeating and then all of a sudden the snowball effect starts rolling towards bizarre expectations. Its like you cant be careful enough with gamers nowdays. One person with enough backing can change reactions to great news just like that.

Anyway enough of the ranting. Im looking forward to the inevitable EU anouncement.
